Undrafted quarterback is making the most money? Does that guy even spend $100 at Olive Garden for lunch???

Exactly. I have said the same thing. He has played like shit in the post season and gets the Brady pass for playing like it and carried by his defense. Those days are over now. Defense sucks and his skill players have to get paid now. Let's see how Joe is having to score 30 per game.

Can they afford $30 million a year and still stay under the cap? Looking at their OLine, I think they should focus more energy there before chasing Jones.

Mostly talk of Madibuike, with a sprinkling of Jones but i don't see them paying that much for a DT. It would really surprise me if they did. I don't see how they can though.

And yes, Oline should be priority #1.

On another note, we have been hearing all week about how historic and unbeatable the Ravens are. From a fan that sees them twice a year, are they as good as we are led to believe? Also do they have any weaknesses that can be exploited?

It's about as cliche as you can get but pressuring Lamar is going to be the key to the game. Chiefs have the Dline to do it but they have to be smart. Mush rush the middle and have your EDs come back towards the LoS after reaching the top. The Bengals have been effective against him when they have Hubbard just maintain on the front side, not giving an escape lane while they go hard on the blind side. You can't allow him to keep getting out of pocket and making plays down the field.

On offense, that's exactly what you need to do, explosive/broken plays. Ravens have given up more on the ground in the second half of the year, so Pacheco should get a few opportunities but they are difficult to run on usually.

This is going to be a war because you're both strong on the defensive side, run the ball well and have QBs who can gash you outside the pocket.

They're probably so shocked that Lamar won a game that really mattered, they don't know how to act.

I've seen some of you silly nillies talking about how Browning looked "just as good" as Burrow and "system qb blahblahblah" in several threads so i'll just go ahead and address it here, since someone already bumped this.

In the 5 games Burrow appeared healthy enough to move around in and run out of the pocket, Ari-Hou, he completed 74% of his passes for 296 ypg, 12 tds and 4 ints for a 107 passer rating, going 4-1.

In his 6 best games, not including his very first start against Pitt, Jax-Cle, Browning completed 71% of his passes for 274 ypg, 10 tds and 6 ints for a 99.5 rating, going 4-2.

Now i need someone to come in here and tell me that a higher comp%, 22 more ypg, 2 more tds, 2 less ints and a difference of 8 pts in passer rating 'isn't that much different'. And he did that in one less game. But they were the same.

Ok, not "the same." How about... Burrow was marginally better. When you compare how much money the two make, the numbers should jump off the page. 3% better completion percentage? 22 more yards per game? Heh. That's well within the margin of error for the fact they didn't play the same teams.

Obviously not the same, but it's closer than anyone probably expected...including the Cincy fans/coaches if I had to guess. You got a pretty damn good backup QB, perhaps the best in the league. That's a nice spot to be.

I don't know what the hell Andy Reid & Brett Veach were thinking when they acquired mega bust Blaine Gabbert to replace Chad Henne, who was extremely solid in the backup role. I'm hoping they will find someone better in the future. They've been fortunate Patrick stayed healthy this season.

Why are you so afraid of a little color?

rfaulk34 02-01-2024 08:51 AM

I'd wear that around town and dare people to say something about it.

I’m not saying he’s gay, but he’d definitely hold one in his mouth until it turned soft.

Like Arrowsmith once said, pink is his favorite color.

So, you left out the main comparison that does make Browning's performance basically as good as Burrow's.

Although, this year Burrow doesn't have a huge cap hit, the true difference between what they are (and will be) paying Burrow, compared to what Browning costs, and that levels their playing statistics.
