The next dude on TV who says “Steve Spagnola” is going to be ruthlessly mocked by me! On the internet, too! That shit never disappears on the internet!

in 2021, it looked to me like guys were dogging it, which would indicate that he'd lost them. It happens to all coaches eventually, unless they just turn the roster over continuously like Belichick does (just as an example). I kind of figured it was time to switch defensive staffs along with the high priced vets and start over. I still think it's probably time to move on from the high priced vets not named Chris Jones this offseason, but Spags has proved he still has their ears. |
Chief Fan still want to fire Spags? LMAO

This is starting to look like a legit top 10, maybe even top 5, defense this year.

I have no problem admitting I had totally lost faith in him and this entire defense, but am more than happy to be wrong.
I have no clue what has ignited this insane spark in these guys asses, but it sure is fun to watch. |
It was just health and redefining the roles of Sorensen and Jones mostly.

He'll go on the HC circuit. He can bring Sorensen back as an intern if not picked up.

Our last 3 games we've given up 9,9,9
I thinks that's pretty neat! |
Our defensive line is night and day different from the beginning of the year.
Jones out of position. Clark injured. Jarran Reed looked like he was going through motions, not anymore. Added Melvin Ingram. And with all those guys playing well it trickles down to our wave DL guys like Wharton, Nnadi, etc. |

Gotta be a near-historic turnaround. |
Thursday Will be a big Test for them. If they hold the chargers under 21 then this defense is elite.
They have been playing really well but the quality of teams and QBs (with out their best receivers) they have faced the last 6 games have been meh. That's ok I am glad to see the domination that is what they should be doing. I just want to see what they do vs a good QB. We shall see! |

I mean Carr was top 5 in passing coming into the game yesterday.
It's folly to discount the two performances the Chiefs D forced him into. He is, by definition, a "good QB." |

39 pressures in, like 6 weeks, is absolutely asinine.
The NFL is full of athletic, smart, 300-lb monsters that play offensive line. And Chris Jones is cutting through them like a warm knife through butter. How is he doing this? |

I'd like to see more sending Willie Gay at the other teams QB.
He hits like a freight truck, can play like a Micah Parsons in our offense. Every snap he either goes or drops into coverage. |

Missing our best player at each level, they found a way to get it done.

Gay = best LB Sneed = no. 1 corner Jones = best pass rusher Not many Ds would perform well on a short week missing those guys. |

Loved the constant blitzing on Herbert in the last drive. If Herbert was going to win it, he was going to have to earn it.

Spags is a magician. Begins the season with the loss of several veterans, including his two play-callers in HB and Hitch, the addition of three starting rooks plus several 2nd/3rd year guys, and he's nailing top-10 offenses to the mattress like two-bit hookers.
Chiefs' opponents have gone just 8-for-28 on 3rd down vs. Spags' defense in 2022. Right now the Chiefs defense is probably a top-10 unit. |
