Please oh please let this happen!!!
Reid isn't perfect but no coach is overall. Hopefully the change in scenery will have re-energized him. Then again growing up in a family full of coaches, I know that it doesn't take much for them to give 100% when they love the game. I love that he already has a staff ready to go and it isn't all just the same guys from his Philly era. This is a new start for both Coach Reid and the Chiefs! Hope it comes true! |

Like what I heard.
Still would have a sour taste in my mouth knowing we have an owner problem who can't make a decision but if it turned out being that Andy lets Scott go? I suppose that would be just enough to keep me a a fan. Otherwise? (as in if Scott is back), Not good enough. |
Shut up keitzman. If the man wanted to take time off, he would

KC plays in Philly this year. Could be a big game now. |
Mary Cabot now has a FULL article out at the Cleveland Plain Dealer that expands on her tweets from last night.
Sounds like Heckert could definitely be coming with him as well as maybe Pat Shurmur. |
Schefter said they were close to a deal and things could move quickly.

Only thing I don't care for in this whole scenario is the Kiffin angle. That excites me not. However, Reid with Heckert and a fresh start overwhelms that dark spot.

Andy Reid close to Chiefs deal
Updated: January 3, 2013, 10:32 AM ET By Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter | ESPN 10 6 3 Andy Reid Chiefs' Top Choice Adam Schefter discusses the Chiefs' and Cardinals' interest in hiring Andy Reid for their open head coaching positions. Tags: Andy Reid Rumors, NFL Rumors, Adam Schefter, SportsCenter NEXT VIDEO Is Andy Reid Overrated Or Underrated? The Kansas City Chiefs are on the verge of a deal to make Andy Reid their next head coach, according to league sources. There still are minor details to work out but after nine hours of meetings Wednesday, one source involved in the talks said "the major issues have been discussed and agreed upon." Reid Was Eagles' Best Andy Reid was the winningest coach in Eagles franchise history. Since Reid's arrival in Philadelphia in 1999, the Eagles have recorded 130 regular-season wins, the NFL's sixth-highest total in that span. Philadelphia also had 10 postseason wins, the third-most since 1999, and claimed six division titles, also the third-most, under Reid. Most Wins By Eagles Coach Coach W-L Andy Reid 130-93-1 Greasy Neale 63-43-5 Dick Vermeil 54-47 Buddy Ryan 43-35-1 -- ESPN Stats & Information One source close to Reid said this morning, "This is going to happen fast." The two sides spent the day Wednesday meeting at a private airport in the Philadelphia area. Reid had been scheduled to fly to Arizona to speak to Cardinals officials about their head coaching opening, but talks progressed with the Chiefs to the point where no hangups are expected. The Chiefs' contingent of officials included owner Clark Hunt, general manager Scott Pioli, executive Ryan Petkoff and president Mark Donovan, who used to work in Philadelphia with Reid. By the end of the day, the expectation amongst the parties in attendance was that a deal would be wrapped up. One assistant coach aligned with Reid even texted Thursday morning that he is going to Kansas City, not Arizona. Once the deal is finalized, the next question in Kansas City will shift to the future of Pioli. Reid is expected to want to bring his own personnel men to Kansas City, which does not bode well for the future of Pioli. Reid worked in Philadelphia with former Browns general manager Tom Heckert, who is expected to be one candidate. Reid also is best friends with Packers director of football operations John Dorsey, who has interviewed for other general managers in the past. The Chiefs fired Romeo Crennel Monday after a 2-14 season. |
Bye Pioli!
|
Who do you think would be a good hire in your opinion? No coach is perfect but Reid does have a very good track record up until the last couple of years. A new change of scenery and staff may be all he needs to get refocused and back to his original game plan of success?

"Stuck with Cassel, Pioli, blah blah". I understand why he doesn't watch KC or follow the Chiefs, but don't open your mouth if you don't have a ****ing clue. |

Oh man if Pioli gets fired and Reid hired on same day

I still think Reid could use a year off, hope I am wrong. He is a good coach, but I am wondering if he is burned out.

I know hindsight is always 50/50 but if we do get Reid that means:
4 years ago, Clark got the hottest GM name on the market and he just now got the biggest name established coach on the market. Does that officially end the "Clark doesn't know what he's doing" talk? |
