His top value is as a 0-technique. His second value is in the 5-technique. And his biggest value is that in a 3-4, he's an unbelievably rare linemen that can one day play all the techniques. Again, another example of reducing a player to a role that doesn't highlight his strengths. |
270 lbs is plenty of weight to play on the end in a 4-3.

The prototypical 4-3 DE is 280+ lbs and has ability to rush the passer and be tough in the trenches against the run. Some have done fine at a lower weight, but not all of them are very good run defenders and many of them get flat-out manhandled by the run. Houston in particular was NOT a good run defender at all in UGA. Hali is NOT very good against the run in a 4-3 and he has physical limitations of short arms. |

And I still think that Tyson Jackson and Dontari Poe being in the 0 technique firing through the A gap would be awesome.
They are both quick and powerful and have big bodies with long arms to bat passes away in the middle. |
Jackson doesnt do much for me. But he was making some plays unlike Dorsey. Though i like dorsey in the 43

Anything is better than having the lineman stand at the line and play patty cakes whilst the QB eats a sandwich in the pocket till he spots an open reciever.
