So what happens if Duffy is recalled to the MLB?

DFA Gutierrez (who has been pitching a little bit better)?

Me too. I loved the guy when he came up 2 years back. I think at one point before he got hurt, his avg fastball was 2nd in MLB only behind Strasburg. I can't recall. Something like 95.5 mph. His arm is ridiculous.

Yes, if Duffy strings together a few more strong outings at Omaha, I think it's time to slide him into Davis's spot in the rotation.

Of course, there's no guarantee Davis can pitch the same way out of the bullpen that he did last year...

No, but I think it's worth a shot after Herrera and Crow's regression.

It is so nice to have options with a major league staff.

That's probably the guy that gets cut.

Baseball America projects #Royals to sign two of top 30 international prospects: No. 12 SS Marten Gasparini; No. 22 OF Cristhian Vasquez.

I probably like David Lough way too much. To me he is a line drive hitter, good range, hits the cutoff man. Doesn't piss me off.

Call up Duffy when he's ready, DFA Gutierrez, move Davis to the pen.

Profit.

Rany (or maybe it was Petro) likened him to Avilles and saw him more as a super-utility type guy.

Profit.

But that's one step too many!

I don't know anything about Vasquez, but Gasparini is interesting. He's regarded by many as the best prospect from Europe ever (He's Italian).

Switch hitter with plus speed, will stick at SS or CF. Possibly is a little underrated due to his locale/comp.

Vasquez is a Venezuelan OF. I imagine that means he's a corner bat with pop potential.

Tigers lost again today.

Okay, minus the profit part.

Are European players even good at baseball? I've never heard of one.

People said Lough’s upside was David DeJesus, and that’s exactly what he’s been so far – a .300 hitter with speed that’s almost good enough to be in CF.

I think the “super utility” and “4th OF” comments are anticipating a drop-off in production. If he continues I don’t see why he can’t be an everyday guy (albeit on a team without the funds to have all-stars at every position – ideally we’d like more power from RF, but we can’t have everything and a .300 hitter is a nice consolation.)
