Yea, that's not being talked about enough on here. I think it deserves its own thread.

****. VON. MILLER.

You must know he thought he was going to spoil our 3peat and become the first player to win 3 rings with 3 different teams. Those old players are delusional, and I have no doubt he believed what he said when he was talking about how great he is historically in the playoffs (as if he were going to duplicate it).

Now Elam, yeah, that one speaks for itself. Kincaid and Coleman though? Not sure I'd pencil them in as complete busts, perhaps a bit of underachieving.

I saw the play from the end zone cam today and it was actually a terrible throw. Of course Allen was getting drilled.

Kincaid made a crazy adjustment just to give himself a chance. It was better attemp attempt at the catch than it was a throw.

It was the most likely outcome of the situation.

If he would've made the catch, people would've been talking about how great of a catch/play it was.

That's the entire point of the blitz.

Oh for sure. It worked perfectly. I found it interesting though because live it looked like Allen made an awesome throw but from the end zone you can see what happened. It hooked right which was behind Kincaid who stopped and changed direction and dove. Hell of an effort.

No doubt, just saying instead of beating up Kincaid, they should just tip their cap to Spags.

Because we know they ain't going to blame Josh lol.

1) The Bills have a lot to be excited about. That team didn't rely on much in the way of older players or guys they expect to lose in FA. Most of the key players they had this year were younger or likely to be extended. And they cleared the Diggs dead cap so they'll have some money to spend. Their cap sheet is relatively clean with only Von Miller as the real headache contract they have.

They'll be better on paper next season than they were this season.

2) Those fans will still see the entire regular season as a preliminary event for the post-season and they WILL develop a cynical shell and cringe like kicked dogs anytime the wheels wobble.

I only say this because we've been there. We know this feeling extremely well. This WAS Chiefs fans before Mahomes. Now its worse for them because they have a truly spectacular QB and a very good HC/Staff. They'd have at least one championship by now, if not more than one, coming out of the NFC. So it has to burn.

It cuts both ways. They'll still be confident and they should be. They still have a badass under center in the prime of his career.

But they're going to be waiting for that football to get pulled away from them again.

Agree with all of this. If you remember, prior to the start of the season many had them pegged as potentially in a rebuild and a fringe wild card team. They far exceeded all expectations and were minutes from a potential SB appearance.

A huge reason why they did so well this year despite everything is because they have what is needed to win in this league, and that’s an elite QB. Allen has improved every year and had his very best season this year. His biggest knock was always turnovers and he was unbelievable this year in limiting those. Plus he’s hitting his prime. That Buffalo team was not as good as their record, but because of Allen they came so close to a SB.

Now another reason for that success is an insane ability to generate turnovers while not turning it over. I do expect that to regress more to the mean next year. But their team is getting younger and with a QB like that, Buffalo won’t be a frowned upon destination for FAs.

What really sucks at the moment for him is that he’s playing when he is playing. He’s the Marino in an era of Elway (yuk) and Montana (despite different conferences). He’s the Manning in an era of Brady. While Manning finally earned one (sorta) and was carried to another, that could happen for Allen at some point.

I completely feel their pain remembering this team pre Mahomes. I heard one fan refer to McDermott to Marty and it shows how little they know about him. Every year they played dominant in the regular season only to watch it all collapse in the postseason. Our only glimmer of hope was when Montana took the Chiefs to the AFCCG before getting knocked out of the game against, ironically, the Bills. This regular season success/postseason failure hung over this organization regardless of who the coach was until Mahomes changed everything.

maybe on their last drive they shouldn't have ended it with 3 incomplete passes? or did the refs do that too

Mitch Holtus compared the 2024 Bills to the 2003 Chiefs today. A team with an insane offense, an incredible OL and a defense that was +37 in turnovers but was otherwise not good.

This should be consoling to the Bills fans because the 2004 Chiefs were... well let me check on that...

oh...

oh no

The Bills rode an easy schedule in one of the easiest division in football this year. Patriots and Jets were a trainwreck and Tua missed over a month.

I think a healthy Tua makes the Dolphins a 10 or so win team and I don’t love Vrabel but do respect his coaching on defense. His defense have pushed us as much as any team quite a few times. He’ll make them better. And Maye is the real deal IMO.

Think the Texans could be that next team to get to the AFCCG. They’ve got the QB, defense, LT and a WR. Just need a few more pieces this offseason.

They’ve got a rookie contract QB so they can use money for the offense

The Bengals haven't forgotten. Poor little kitties.

Or not have to continually end up in 4th down over and over and over. Eventually it bites you.

AFC East will continue to be crappy. Buffalo is lucky in that regard, but it’s also weak preparation for the Playoffs. The Chiefs have to go against 3 high level Championship quality coaches in the AFC West. Iron sharpens iron. The division games will be a tough battle, but good preparation for Playoff games.

Yeah - that's the biggest issue.

Can they REALLY bank on the turnover luck again?

The team could be better and still not have as good a record next season. So much went right for them this year.

And where did it bring them?

Right back to KC.

It is...inevitable.

I think the biggest issue is, Josh Allen can't seem to beat a good QB in the playoffs.
