Im not saying he ISNT. Im saying he was a rookie in his natural position. Then asked to switch to a completely different scheme he's never played. Im calling it as it is. He's never gotten a fair shake

You're asking the guy to become a specialist in the trenches, where he's going to have blockers in his face immediately in the run game. Same with Hali. You ask those guys to traditionally be 280-290 lbs because you can't get blown off the ball against every power running team. Where Houston is at, he is going to get exposed in the running game, and if he adds weight he loses a lot of his quickness. Hali struggled some in the run game in a 4-3 because he has small arms, so he's not a guy you want to be constantly fighting in the trenches.

These guys will do fine in the 4-3. But our run defense is going to get lit up.

Dorsey sucks.

Just last season (2011) he had a great year 2-gapping. He doesn't suck. He's not elite, but he's a very good run defender. Hard to move. Gets off blocks and makes plays in the running game.

If we go to a 4-3 he should absolutely be here.

If you're talking about me, you're wrong. I defended Hali when he was picked, I defended him when he played under Herm, and I was one of the few that said he would excel in the 3-4.

If we go to Tampa 2, he's not good enough. Period.

You're a joke. There are tons of 4-3 ends in this league in the 270 pound range.

Bottom line, he has not produced to the value worthy of the slot he was selected in.

If they moved him to corner, I'd agree with you. But he's still on the D-line and he failed.

How many of those guys play opposite someone who also weighs that much? I can answer that for you if you want.

This, I agree with. His pass rush is abysmal.

 People need to do research. Hey here's a news flash peopel: Just because ESPN says a guy is 255 doesnt mean he's 255

DeezNutz 01-04-2013 07:55 PM

It is a little ironic that we're noting the difficulty of finding good players for the 4-3, since this is exactly what we worried about when going to the 3-4 when dickless arrived.

I'll be a little annoyed if we're unnecessarily burning talent just for the sake of switching, but whatever.

The Chiefs were 27th in rush defense, so it could be that the new staff believes the D-line is such shit that a change won't be too big of a deal in the short term, with obvious expectations for long-term success.
