So, word is CU will be paying a 6-8 million dollar penalty for leaving the Big 12.

One has to wonder how they're going to pay that when they couldn't afford Hawkins' $3mm buyout.

I'm pretty sure that this is withheld income. CU won't be writing a check they just won't get paid as much next year.

So shouldn't the same penalty apply for NU? That would be $12-$16 million split 10 ways.

No word on what Nebraska will be paying yet, but I assume they'll pay the same penalty CU does.

Beebe said that the 5 schools that were going to be left out were willing to give that money to Texas, Oklahoma and aTm. There are still things to be worked out but those three schools could get all that money.

It does sound from the teleconference that even though revenue sharing will not be equal it is based on how many times your school is on TV. So if you get better than you get more money.
