In other news Odorizzi struck out 10 in 7.1 scoreless innings bringing his ERA down to only .59 more than James Shields. Amazing how quickly shit can change in baseball.

91 SO in 77 IP. Not bad.

Only the Royals can have a ten game win streak and then immediately turn to crap. I hope there weren't too many buying the fool's gold.

Really? Only the Royals? Remember when the Tigers started 27-12 or some shit and then proceeded to go on an 8-20 run? It's a 162 game season, there's going to be winning streaks and losing streaks no matter how good or bad the team is.

Unless you were expecting them to win out the rest of the season, which apparently many Royals fans were.

The offense is laughable

BigCatDaddy 06-22-2014 03:00 PM

Padres fired their GM. Will they be more open to trades?

Jays went 20-5 over a stretch and have now gone completely to shit in June. It happens. The ups and downs of a long year.

At least we did win all those games so we aren't destroying our season this weekend. That's what I am going to go with.

texaschiefsfan 06-22-2014 03:17 PM

I know what you guys are saying, but there comes a time during every Royals' season when the question must be asked: Is it football season yet?

Voice of reason.

It's a long season, chumps. Winning streaks will happen. Losing streaks will happen. Calm down.

Mark that CoMo prediction. Probably ought to revive the thread.

Ouch...

Seattle, surprisingly, isn't a bad club. They're sitting in a tie for a playoff spot right now.

Which brings up a thought- Is it weird that three AL West teams would be playoff-bound had the season ended today, and none of them are the Rangers?

Haven't the Rangers been demoralized from injuries this season?

Sure. But it seems like they're always there, at least for the last four or five years.

Want a funny little quirky stat. Guess which team ended both the 1977 and 1994 Royals long winning streaks?

Seattle Mariners.
