I don't think the point is to 'make money for his friends, too'. I think the point here is that he knows and is comfortable with Heckert helping make the personnel decisions. They're friends, yes...but this happens every time a guy is brought in to rebuild a franchise...he picks and chooses the ones from his past that he knows can make the transition smoother. Reid wants a ring...does he like the payday? Who doesn't...but to say he would be coming here solely for the benjamins is just off base, IMO.

Cards fans will hate us forever if Reid comes here and wins some big games.

Yes, and this was the first draft Eagles owner Lurie directed Reid to hand over authority for draft picks to Eagles GM Howie Roseman. We need to look back to previous drafts to evaluate Reid's picks. Reid's draft history is not so great.
