I was hoping the Steel would take a shot, but congrats. I'm sure he'll be raping in no time.

Not concerned.

Lynch is a lot closer to Tommie Maddox than he is to the next Elway

I love people who pretend they know, in either direction. Because I'm sure you knew all the long line of high picks who turned out to be bust QBs were no good.

The truth is no one knows, including the best NFL execs. They can't tell Ryan Leaf from Peyton Manning.

So you make the best guess you can and you take your chances. Lynch has the potential to be anything from nothing at all to something a great deal better than that. Without the first overall pick that's the best you can do. And even with the first overall pick it's no sure thing.

Everybody in Pullman knew that Leaf was an immature emotional hot head. His physical talent though was greater than Manning.

Maybe. But the NFL believed there was serious question which one was better. And certainly no one thought Leaf was a bad pick. And, of course, it turns out that manning tea bagged a trainer--not the height of maturity. The truth is that some young men who are holy terrors mature. And others go the opposite direction. One of many reasons prediction for individual QBs is a fool's game.
