Shane Bannon/FB-TE/Yale: His offensive statistics won't impress anyone as Bannon never carried the ball as a senior and accumulated just 13 receptions. His blocking skills, however, are another story. Bannon is built like a tank, measuring 6-1½, 268 and plays to that size. He's lined up at fullback and tight end with one simple mission -- annihilate opponents, which he does with regularity. Bannon is getting serious consideration from the Ravens and Giants to perform these skills at the next level.

Yale fullback Shane Bannon flew well under the radar as a lead blocker in the Ivy League.

However, the 6-foot-1, 270-pounder made an impression at his Pro Day with a 4.69 in the 40-yard dash.

"The kid is a stud," Joe Linta, Bannon's agent, told the National Football Post. "I had never heard of the kid before a coach at Yale told me about him. He's a good lucking kid, catches every pass, light feet and he's blowing up people on the film. He's got some position flexibility, too. He can play fullback or be an in-line tight end."

Bannon registered a 9-3 broad jump, a 29-inch vertical leap, a 4.2 in the 20-yard shuttle, a 7.1 in the three-cone drill and a 12.1 in the 60-yard shuttle.

Last season, Bannon caught a career-high 13 passes for 122 yards and won the Jim Keppel Award as the Yale Offensive Back of the Year.

He played football, track and hockey in high school.

Some real WTF picks today, but this is still a really good draft overall.

Apparently Powe CAN read, and proved it by reading an article aloud for a reporter. He speaks better than a lot of NFL players, too. He had academic problems, is dyslexic, and probably isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is a nose tackle not a rocket scientist.
