Even the guys that did get a deal landed way below average deals.

Market correction. Thanks to guys like Dorsey, and Schneider who threw ridiculous dollars at Berry and Thomas, the price point for safeties got all out of whack. With teams employing hybrid safeties/linebackers and utilizing more db’s in specialized roles, we are seeing a quantitative shift in how personnel is employed. Interior DL 1 techs for instance are paid less because they factor as 2 down players. As the game has expanded into more specialized personnel groupings, more roster players are being utilized, thus making depth more relevant.

It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense that not one team has come to a middle ground compromise with any of these three guys. Even if it were on a one year deal.

My point is, we have no idea what the actual ideas are behind these guys not getting signed already are.

Tre Boston didn’t protest, had a bunch of picks last year and is also without a job.

Honey badger only got a 1 year deal for 7m.

Watching the Gruden QB Camp & watching Manziel lie through his teeth is pathetic.

Manziel before the draft saying "that's not the guy I am. I'm not that kinda guy."

Hell he was worse!

No way I'd have him on my team.

Okay, neat. Either way these guys are being asked to do more and not less and paying elite players elite money doesn't really reflect on the rest. I can't think of a reason why 2 down players would apply here.

Look at the fights teams and players have over defining a player position when it comes to franchise tag applications - that is just one indicator as to how clubs can try to soften a market or get away with paying less to someone based on how/where they are deployed. Snap counts, starts, injuries, etc. all factor into this. These same factors can be cited by teams to justify doling out contracts whether we agree with it or not. Look at the NHL and salary arbitration as an example.

Ah yeah man, it's definitely those reasons and not because owners want to pocket money where they can

I have no clue what you are arguing here.

Are you a business owner? Do you overpay employees for the hell of it?

Most teams are spending at or near the cap, so griping about imbalance in player salaries is something the NFLPA should do their homework on before the next CBA.

"Can't have inmates running the prison" seems pretty akin to know your place, and multiple owners have said they don't want players who kneel in their team. So...

So....then the inmates and prison and players who kneel is referring only to black players IYO? Because there were white players that did the same things.
