For some reason, I've spent 3 hours watching the New York State Assembly debate this bill.

One brought up watching Griffith kill Paret in person, then stated he still loves boxing, but MMA is too much. He then went on to talk about choking being a legitimate technique, finishing with something along the lines of "You know how we in New York feel about chokes," which I could only assume was an Eric Garner reference. Another theorized that pedophiles can open an MMA gym in order to touch children under the guise of training them. Another unwittingly used a parody Edmond Tarverdyan twitter account to make a point.

After this neverending shitshow, it's just now going to a vote.

EDIT: It passed, 113-25.

My 19 y/o son and I just booked flight, tickets, and hotel for UFC 197. I've never even been to Vegas before. This will be awesome! Most of it is being funded with our fantasy football winnings.
