I'm certainly not going to base my entire opinion on a coach on it but when it comes to the specific scenario of deciding between Reid and Cowher, it's definitely a factor then. |

Mort ( plus Mike & Mike ) expects that if the deal gets done, basically it will be announced on Friday, if not it will be Monday due to the NFL playoffs this weekend.
|
Does anyone know or has heard if Mark Donovan stay in Philly last night?
|
Mort just said on Mike AND Mike that he thinks the deal will get done with the Chiefs. He said I'm not reporting that, I'm just saying that's the way it sounds like the way things are going. He sited a pro for Andy Reid that Clark would let him build the franchise all the way from the ground up starting at the equipment people.
|
The name people keep telling me Reid is interested in for defense is Monte Kiffin. Kiffin and Reid are friends and he wants back in the NFL.

Per PFT:
Chiefs now look more likely than Cardinals to hire Andy Reid Posted by Michael David Smith on January 3, 2013, 9:29 AM EST AP Two days ago, there were breathless reports out of Arizona that Andy Reid was very close to becoming the head coach of the Cardinals. Now it doesn’t even appear that the Cardinals are the leading candidates for Reid’s services. Reid interviewed with the Chiefs on Wednesday and ended up delaying a scheduled meeting with the Cardinals in order to extend his meeting with the Chiefs. And ESPN’s Chris Mortensen said on Mike and Mike in the Morning that the events of the last 24 hours suggest that Reid is getting close to a deal in Kansas City. “The Chiefs were trying to close a deal with Andy Reid,” Mortensen said. “At this point I’m going to be surprised if Andy Reid is not the Chiefs’ coach. Now, I’ve been surprised before, but there’s a lot of activity there. Some would say, ‘Why Kansas City over Arizona?’ One thing is, in Kansas City, Clark Hunt, the owner of the Chiefs, he’ll let Andy Reid build this thing the way he wants to build it. And if you know Andy, he wants to be able to basically pick the entire organization, set up his personnel. . . . The Chiefs are willing, and Clark Hunt is willing to do that.” If the Chiefs are going to give total control to Reid, that would appear to be bad news for Chiefs G.M. Scott Pioli, but Mortensen said it still remains to be seen whether Scott Pioli would stay in Kansas City if Reid got the job. All of this could change quickly — after all, on New Year’s Day there were multiple reports that the Cardinals were getting close to a deal with Reid. But at the moment, Reid going to Kansas City appears to be a strong possibility. |

Not only would Kiffin probably change from 3-4 to 4-3. He'd change to the HARDEST 4-3 scheme there is when it comes to assembling talent. EDIT: When I say that, I mean it requires A LOT of money to build a Tampa 2. It basically means we HAVE to hit on the QB because there won't be nearly as much money left over to build the offense. Re 9 hour meeting between Chiefs/Andy Reid, agent Bob LaMonte was also there. Have negotiated w/him. He can talk for a while... |
Well Chris Mortensen said he's be shocked if a deal wasn't done. Now they might not have left yet some of these reports are dumb and inaccurate
|
Clark like a Bauce.
take a seat Pioli; sit in the corner, and STFU. you suck |
No thanks to Kiffin. I've got no problem moving to a 4-3 but **** the Tampa 2.
|
If it is true that Fat Scott only went so Andy could pick his brain on the current players to see if he knew what he was talking about, then I wonder what was said when it got to Cassel?
Fat Scott, "You know he is a Pro Bowler right?" Andy, "Yeah Clark get rid of this clown!!" |

Here's the deal for me.
Everybody that has come on the Border Patrol this morning has been asked "if you were a Chiefs fan, would you be excited about Andy Reid?" And to a man, Andrew Brandt, Matt Williamson, and the rest have EMPHATICALLY said "YES". |

Listened to Philly Sports radio this morning and I get the feeling they knew it was time for him to go but still know he was a damn good coach.
They cant stop talking about him and how he apparently shafted the city by not giving a formal news conference type goodbye to the team and to the fans that just fired him. They should "fuck off". Elvis wishing him failure to whatever team he goes too, stay classy Philadelphia!! |

My broworker, who is a huge Eagles fan, says it was fun while it lasted in Philly, but he has bombed the draft the last 3 years and hasn't get the players energized to win.
I told him that Reid's 5 NFC championship appearances looked good to a team who haven't won a playoff game in 20 years. |

Woke up this morning hoping to see some good info - instead get to wade though 4 pages of you assholes arguing with an obvious troll over Dexter McCluster.
The bright side is, it seems you all decided to quit whining about Scott Pioli for the time being. Hoping this gets done today and we can start to learn about the staff Reid has assembled. I'll be honest, the Monte Kiffin rumors take a metric ****ton of the shine off this thing for me. Hope it's wrong. |
