Erdman is pretty good. Deaton appears like a weak egghead though.

Really sounds like they're gone..

Ever.

That's why I was asking. No way the SEC anything comes to KC.

Pitt Gorilla 10-21-2011 11:52 AM

Man, people are dumb. It was clear we were gone as soon as Deaton was given the authority.

evenfall 10-21-2011 11:53 AM

Completely agree. If KU is too butthurt to play the football game, let's play K-State. Would be tons of fun, and a better opponent most years too.

Fish 10-21-2011 11:53 AM

Whatever they decide, it will go into effect next year....

Is that what I just heard?

DJ's left nut 10-21-2011 11:53 AM

This could not be more obvious. I've gotta give MU credit here, this was masterfully done by a generally ham-fisted institution.

WilliamTheIrish 10-21-2011 11:53 AM

I thought Deaton even showed well. Clearly, it's not his element, but he did well.

So Mizzou is basically proposing the Baylor estroball coaches' hypothetical right? They want a divorce and still want to sleep together.

eazyb81 10-21-2011 11:54 AM

Mizzou anticipates being in a conference for next year if they leave. That's a good sign.

It's how I'm reading the thread. It doesn't really matter what the official reason was for the press conference, speculating like that is reeruned from their point of view... let the fans do that. I'm sure they're supremely confident the deal is done, and I'm sure there's a lot we haven't heard about to make the final votes seem like a formality, but instead of grandstanding, they could just wait 5 more days or whatever until it's actually official.

ChiefsCountry 10-21-2011 11:54 AM

Mizzou is good as gone. Board did a pretty good PR job today in KC. Don't announce you are leaving the Big 12 in KC. Announce a basketball tournament and football game for KC. Throw that in KU's court. It would be better to announce you are leaving for the SEC in Columbia.

Fair point.

Of course the Big XII schools don't care. Neither do the Big East schools who are looking to take Mizzou's spot. Neither do the SEC schools who would be accepting a new member. Neither do the PAC schools who are looking to poach Big XII schools if they get desperate...

This was about Kansas City today.
