I think this card is good enough to deserve its own thread. I won't put it up too early, but sometime Saturday afternoon I'll put up a UFC 196 thread

UFC Title history updated with title change and new fights

So, UFC 200 speculation. The UFC has a policy where they do not do 3 title fights in one night (when you go from 1 title fight to 2, that can help sell the PPV and provides insurance, but there's not much difference between 2 and 3, so its usually a waste), but I think they may make an exception here for what they are calling the biggest event in their history.

Out of the weight classes, obviously strawweight is out for sure.

I think we can rule out heavyweight, Bantamweight, and middleweight. I guess if Werdum knocks out Miocic in 20 seconds and doesn't get touched at all he'd be good to go, but they will have already scheduled most of the fights by then, so they'd probably use him for 201. I'm going to go ahead and rule out Miesha Tate as well. She could fight in July, but I think Dana is going to ask her to wait for Ronda.

Light Heavyweight and Flyweight are unlikely unless they have an easy fight and don't mind a quick turnaround.

So, that leaves Conor McGregor, RDA, and Robbie Lawler. I think thats the card. McGregor vs Edgar, RDA against.... Eddie Alvarez? Diaz is possible, unless Dana wants him to prove it. It might be smarter to use Diaz to headline a fight night for a #1 contender fight right after 200. For Lawler, Wonderboy and MacDonald are not available because they are fighting each other in June, so... maybe Tyron Woodley.

There we go, if I'm the matchmaker and the promoter, here's my card, promoted in this order.

Main Event: McGregor vs. Frankie Edgar

Co-Main Event: RDA vs. Eddie Alvarez

3rd title fight: Robbie Lawler vs. Tyron Woodley

If Werdum wins easily and is healthy, I ask him to stay in shape and be ready to save the card if necessary, otherwise I'd use him for 201. The Light Heavyweight champ is also a possible emergency option.

edit: Cowboy Cerrone should be in there somewhere too, either kicking off the PPV, or the feature prelim.

Small thing but Lawler would be in the CME over RDA.

Cerrone/Diaz #1 contender would be a nice addition.

Awesome interview, Diaz was relaxed and a little looser here than he usually is in interviews, probably because a couple of the interviewers were active fighters.

Is anyone else hyped for the jones/DC fight?

I couldn't be less hyped :(

Pettis/Barboza should be a sick fight tho.

It's normal after a guy gets cut up in a fight.
