I believe you also predicted that ISU would beat Missouri.

Truth (at least from his perspective).

I wish Bill would go back and coach Tulsa. He was amazing there.

IF the Big 12 does fall apart, unfortunately it will take Bill Self about one season to leave KU for OSU.

ok, maybe i'm the only one misunderstanding this.

there is no penalty to be paid, per se. the penalty is a withholding of a team's share of the league revenue, which is then redistributed to the other members of the league.

that's how i read the bylaws. page 14.

anyone else?

for the previous 2 years plus next year if I'm reading that right

This one gets pretty good at the end.. you know.. after winning the bowl game that was better than the bowl Mizzou, KS, and KState went to.

Iowa St.

Cute.

All things considered, I guess I'm pretty happy with the way things seem to have worked out. Every team in the conference gets a lot better deal than they had before (Even if Texas still gets by far the biggest the slice of the pie.) Mizzou, KU, and KSU stick together... (Nice not to lose the rivalries, and HUGE for KC.) And... nobody gets hung out to dry.

It could have been better for my particular favorite school... but it's still better than what we had. And for KC, ISU, Baylor, and probably KSU it's the best possible outcome.

Like I said before, now I'm ready to put it behind us and get to the games.

The new Big Ten (Big 12) needs to add at least two teams of great value. Otherwise this is a band aid and we'll just get picked apart next time expansion time starts. I hope Beebe is proactive this time. But I don't think Texas wants to share any revenue so that may be difficult.

Happy? Oh hell no. Nationally we got some egg on our face. In the conference we lost some credibility. And ultimately we'd have still been better off in the B10.

But could it have been worse? Much much much worse. We could've ended up in the Big East traveling to VT. We could've ended up in the MWC (ugh). We could've ended up homeless.

Alden sucks and sucks hard, but ultimately he lucked into only marginal damage.

I'd still love to see Cincy and Louisville come on board, I hate the idea of a 10 team league and the annual ass-raping we'll get from OU/TX. At least with the divisional format we'd still get a crack at the B12 championship game a lot of years.

Eh, it's a bit of a relief, but I'm still irritated.

I'm not even sure how to respond to this. What in the **** does that response have to do with that post from six goddamn weeks ago? But for the record, I'm not bitter about shit, reerun.

the Talking Can 06-14-2010 07:27 PM

for ku, this is far and away the best outcome....ku fans whining about it as if ku had clout in the world is hilarious...

kept rivalries and travel and time zone and gained $$$ and got rid of colorado

only neg is losing nebraska football

great potential for bball conference...

now take a deep breath, and go get a couple schools in a year...

#1 - Louisville...resources and desire to compete in football, top bball brand...big east has worst football contract, i think
#2 - not sure...maybe cinci, maybe byu
