An article mentioning what NFL insiders think of the Chiefs offense and defense at this point: https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2018/...-a-bad-defense

I just cannot wait to see what Veach will do to help the defense with all the draft picks but right now there is definitly a concern that the defense could be just as bad or below-average as last year.

I love the LBs group but the Dline and especially the secondary look like they could be poor if Veach doesn't hit on draft picks contributing immediately.

Veach did have interest in Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Kyle Fuller so for sure he realizes that help is needed but right now it seems like he went from trying to sign big-time free agents on top of the upcoming draft to just settling for draft picks.

I am not sure how anyone could think the D will be good with Sutton still in charge. He does not believe in pressuring the QB.

Per Schefter Patriots are trading WR Brandin Cooks and a fourth-round pick to LA Rams for the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and a sixth-round pick, league sources told ESPN.

Wow

lol like who? They're going to have to trade up if they want a QB.

Red Dawg 04-03-2018 03:56 PM

They could trade up. 2 1s and 2 twos.

Sassy Squatch 04-03-2018 03:57 PM

Well, that was out of nowhere.

Wow

Cooks isn’t that good.

They are really desperate for a Sammy Watkins type WR. Oops!

That could get them to Cleveland’s #4 pick.

Why would they trade away Jimmy G for peanuts, just to draft another QB?

staylor26 04-03-2018 04:08 PM

Not a fan of this move for the Rams

The Pats can do some real damage though

NIUhuskies 04-03-2018 04:12 PM

The Pats got a 1st and 6th outnof the Rams for Cooks and we got half the return out of them for Peters lol

Stupid fast, consistent 1,000 yard receiver. The downside is that he isn't tall and doesn't do well with contested catches really. Can't pretend he's a Julio Jones or anything, no question.

But, seriously, he's pretty damn good. I'm sorry to see him go, but this is standard operating procedure for Belichick. I imagine they reached out to discuss an extension (he's entering the last year of his contract) and found out the numbers, and decided to move on and get value.

Summary of the Cooks deals:

1. Pats trade 2017 pick 32 for Cooks, getting one year of performance (1,000 yards, 7 TDs) for cheap (like $2M last year I think);

2. Pats then flip Cooks along with a 4th rounder to get the 23 pick in the 2018 draft along with a 6th rounder.

I can hear BB now. "Good value there"
