What about Navorro Bowman? We still need more talent at linebacker. I don't trust Dee Ford, he can be a backup. What if Houston gets hurt again? Ragland is a 2-down linebacker as far as i can tell. There are plenty of snaps for Bowman. I'm tired of having a bunch of non-tackling linebackers. I would prefer having Houston play on the line where he can rush the passer on every play.

Even at 30 yrs old, Bowman would be our 2nd best linebacker.

You need to learn the difference between OLBS and ILBS in a 34.

In case you were wondering why the safety market isn’t doing well this year.

Yessir. That’s not even counting the next wave which looks good too in Trey Walker, Dane Cruikshank, etc who we could realistically get in the 4th rd.

I actually think the Chiefs are very high on Leon McQuay and want him to be a rotational player to help replace Ron Parker.

Sorensen was one of the worst safeties in the league last year and Murray was somehow even worse.

I said as much weeks ago.

is 6 safeties graded 2nd round or better that great? There's roughly 10 position groups, you'd expect about 6.4 if all positions were of equal quality, so just seems average?

QB's, Pass rushers, LT's, and random blue chip guys usually dominate the first...

Okay, quote says first two rounds though so hardly relevant?

Last 4 years, number of safeties taken in the first two rounds: 8, 4, 4, 5 - average of 5.25. 6 this year hardly sounds statistically significant?

Maybe, but the answer isn't to ask somebody to completely change position.

if anything those numbers should tell you that, that is the reason why the safety market is so far down

I don't know what you mean, how do these numbers explain the lack of interest in free agent safeties? If the number of quality safeties in the draft affect the FA interest, then there were 8 safeties worth taking in the first 2 rounds last year and tons of FA safeties still got multi year deals (Tony Jefferson 4 year deal, Micah Hyde 5 year deal, Barry Church 4 year deal, DJ Swearinger 3 year deal).

Shouldn't the interest in FA safeties be up this year, if we're going from 8 good safeties in the draft to 6?
