And if Jones thinks he should be in the realm of Bosa or any elite edge rusher's contract he should look at his tape of the failed experiment when he was given the chance to play that spot. Sorry CJ but DTs aren't as valued as edge. Donald is the extreme outlier and while he's a stud he's not Donald.

Are those figures based on any sort of reality, or are we just spit-balling?

He made the game ending sack on Burrow in the AFCCG lined up at DE.

Jones played well in SF Bowl and Cincy playoff game this year. He was big time but he's not so incredible in every playoff run you give him whatever he commands.

Short, very short-term memory around here.

Chris Jones changes the way the Chiefs play defense. Spags' can get flexible with the calls.

That's why age is so critical.

The idea behind these deals that 're-set the market' is that they're locked in for 4-5 years and by the end of them, salary cap increases lead to those deals being pretty reasonable.

But you gotta have a guy you're comfortable will still be playing at high level in 4-5 years.

Bosa is the same age now as Jones was when he signed his deal and 're-set the market' for DTs. And that ended up working out well for both sides because there was a reasonable likelihood that by the end of the deal, the market caught up to the contract and the player maintained a high level throughout it.

So yeah, Bosa's the better bet and lets set aside the likely difference in pure ability. The AGE makes all the difference in the world here.

1,000%. And still, even at the same age, I'd rather have Bosa.

We will get jack shit from Jones this year even if he comes in. The only way to get better from him is for Veach to give in and if that's hasn't happened then it probably won't happen. Fells like both sides are just mad as hell right now. Jones must be super mad to go the route of losing 12 mil.

You start with a terrible argument that has little to do with Chris Jones situation, then loudly project an opinion on the board that almost no one is claiming, THEN blame the board for being racist because they have the opinion you made up about the topic that has almost nothing to do with the thread.

Dude.

You're throwing things at Nick Bosa that are not factually accurate (he missed a season to a torn ACL but has otherwise been a very healthy player).

You're insinuating this is based on race, when the issue is more about age and willingness to come to the table and negotiate in good faith.

The dividing factor here is age. The main one, anyone. Consistency of impact is another. Nick Bosa has been a gamewrecker on the same level as 2022 Chris Jones every season he has played.

It would be a much safer bet to make him the highest paid defender in league history for the next four years than it would to make Jones the 2nd or 3rd, let alone the highest.

Seriously, dude. You're invalidating anything you say by acting like Nick Bosa is injury prone.

He tore his ACL and missed his sophomore campaign. Other than that, he's been a consistently available guy. Tearing a knee doesn't make one injury prone in today's day and age.

The fact that Frank Clark is a feather in the cap of your argument here should demonstrate how REALLY truly and remarkably shitty your argument is...

"Oh yeah, well in 2019 Daniel Sorensen had an interception and 8 tackles against the Chargers while bitch-ass Derwin James didn't even play. SORENSEN should get paid as much/more than James does..."

See? This is quite stupid.

Beside the racial issues your having......I think your argument could have been much better if you asked the question Jones at $26M vs Bosa at $32M.

But you wanted to come out of the gates yelling that Jones as a DT should be paid more than Bosa as a DE. Thats not the market for each position and simply lost all credibility. Again, the racial stuff didn't help at all.

Maybe I’m misremembering it, but I’m pretty sure Bosa was whooping Fisher’s ass almost all game in the Super Bowl. He was pretty much living in the backfield.

PFF gave Bosa credit for 12 pressures, a QB Hit, and a sack.

PFF can be trash, so Pro Football Reference gave him credit 4 hurries, a QB Hit, and a sack.

Either way, that’s a pretty damn good game.

I'm not sure what Joey Bosa has to do with anything. Are you aware of the fact that Nick and Joey Bosa being brothers does not make them the same person?

The grass is always whiter on the other side of chiefsplanet.

Show us on the doll where the big strong white men from the gym dumped their roid raged loads on your girl.

Go back a couple of pages, I pointed out that Nick Bosa is holding out also and said Chiefs will make a mistake if they do not offer to at least Joey Bosa AAV $27 million or TJ Watt AAV $28 million.

It is bullshit that this thread badmouths Chris Jones and his agent and does not acknowledge that another high profile holdout is happening also.

That is when the citizens council called the emergency meeting to argue about how pretty are the muscles of Joey and Nick and that they deserve to be the highest paid even though the never win shit and they miss games. Same thing for the Watt brothers.

Dumbasses think that Chiefs ought to die on the hill of offering Jones one dollar more than Quinnen Williams, I said that will not look good to the Defensive players in the Chiefs locker room if Nick Bosa becomes no. 1 or No.2 highest paid defender and Chiefs do not offer at least offer $27-$28 mill AAV to Jones.

Why is it bullshit if it’s not relevant to the Chiefs? It’s not relevant to their negotiations and it sure as hell isn’t relevant to Chiefs fans who are solely interested in what happens to/with the Chiefs. You’re attempting to force relevancy where there isn’t any. And then when we don’t accept your silly premise you accuse us all of being racists. Now THAT is bullshit.

If you go back a couple pages, you will also find that 97.3% of CP has classified you as a ****ing clown. Just for the record to keep things fresh for newcomers to the thread. Those other 2.69% deserve a voice.

What a shameful display of straw man fallacies, ad hominem fallacies, slothful induction fallacies, ignorance, and racism. You'll never convince me you aren't an old Oakland Raiders fanboy.

I believe -King- is black and we're all friends with him. There was even an entire thread about him and his stooges.
