Jones played well in SF Bowl and Cincy playoff game this year. He was big time but he's not so incredible in every playoff run you give him whatever he commands.

The idea behind these deals that 're-set the market' is that they're locked in for 4-5 years and by the end of them, salary cap increases lead to those deals being pretty reasonable. But you gotta have a guy you're comfortable will still be playing at high level in 4-5 years. Bosa is the same age now as Jones was when he signed his deal and 're-set the market' for DTs. And that ended up working out well for both sides because there was a reasonable likelihood that by the end of the deal, the market caught up to the contract and the player maintained a high level throughout it. So yeah, Bosa's the better bet and lets set aside the likely difference in pure ability. The AGE makes all the difference in the world here. |

We will get jack shit from Jones this year even if he comes in. The only way to get better from him is for Veach to give in and if that's hasn't happened then it probably won't happen. Fells like both sides are just mad as hell right now. Jones must be super mad to go the route of losing 12 mil.

Wow dude…

You're throwing things at Nick Bosa that are not factually accurate (he missed a season to a torn ACL but has otherwise been a very healthy player). You're insinuating this is based on race, when the issue is more about age and willingness to come to the table and negotiate in good faith. The dividing factor here is age. The main one, anyone. Consistency of impact is another. Nick Bosa has been a gamewrecker on the same level as 2022 Chris Jones every season he has played. It would be a much safer bet to make him the highest paid defender in league history for the next four years than it would to make Jones the 2nd or 3rd, let alone the highest. |

He tore his ACL and missed his sophomore campaign. Other than that, he's been a consistently available guy. Tearing a knee doesn't make one injury prone in today's day and age. |

****ing shit for brains. |
LMAO At least he dropped the pretense that he wasn't race baiting

But you wanted to come out of the gates yelling that Jones as a DT should be paid more than Bosa as a DE. Thats not the market for each position and simply lost all credibility. Again, the racial stuff didn't help at all. |

You guys badmouth a dude that helps Chiefs win Super Bowls in favor of a bodybuilder who knows what juice don't get caught in a screening. **** a Nick Bosa and any of his fanboys. Chiefs have not lost to the 49ers since Chris Jones has been here, and Nick Bosa was handled by Eric Fisher, Orlando Brown, Jr., and Andrew Wylie. And **** Joey Bosa with his 87 total games played since he was #3 overall in the same draft that Chris Jones was #37 and Jones has played in 121 total games for the Chiefs, the team that some of the assholes around here say is their favorite. |

It is bullshit that this thread badmouths Chris Jones and his agent and does not acknowledge that another high profile holdout is happening also. That is when the citizens council called the emergency meeting to argue about how pretty are the muscles of Joey and Nick and that they deserve to be the highest paid even though the never win shit and they miss games. Same thing for the Watt brothers. Dumbasses think that Chiefs ought to die on the hill of offering Jones one dollar more than Quinnen Williams, I said that will not look good to the Defensive players in the Chiefs locker room if Nick Bosa becomes no. 1 or No.2 highest paid defender and Chiefs do not offer at least offer $27-$28 mill AAV to Jones. |
