You mean like Peyton and the greatest offense ever against Flacco and the Ravens?

Shit happens.

Mahomes is 8-3 in the playoffs in his 4 years as a starter. Outside of maybe Tom Brady (on pure W-L stats only), find me a QB in the NFL that has been better . . . . .

At this point in his career, Wilson doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Mahomes.

Is he garbage? No. Does he dramatically improve Denver's QB situation? Yes. He's a good QB. No argument there.

But Mahomes would have to have SEVERAL bad post-seasons in a row to catch up with Russ' performance in the playoffs.

That's simply a fact.

Did I actually see an earlier post where someone said that giving away Fant meant little because they still have Albert O?

Really....seriously?

What can you hear from the last time Denver beat the Chiefs and made playoffs?

Seven long years.

{raises hand}

Yup.

Give Albert the kind of volume that Fant had and you won't see a meaningful distinction.

Athletically they are virtually identical. On a per snap basis their production is nearly indistinguishable. Physically Okwuegbunam actually gives you a slightly better catch radius to work with.

Their college numbers aren't even significantly different. The only obvious difference is draft status and the playing time that necessarily followed it. Moreover, prior to an injury prone platform season at Mizzou when their offense was just completely out of sorts, Okwuegbunam was seen as an ascending first round talent in his own right.

Replacing Fant with Okwuegbunam will be largely a lateral move.

I just hope Wilson is into butt stuff, because Mahomes is gonna stick two Ls up his ass each season.

Completely delusional. This isn’t ****ing CFB. The schedule difference is never that significant. They play in the same ****ing conference for crying out loud.

I’ve literally never heard anybody try to say that Russell Wilson is on Aarong Rodgers level until the last 24 hours.

Amazing.

Yet so typical... Dudes that had toned it down, now are total dickwad Knowmo desciples once again. And they hadn't won dick yet and are coming off back to back to back to back to back losing seasons. Only entitled Donk fan....ROFL

Molitoth 03-09-2022 04:00 PM

Considering the AFCW is going to have Mahomes and Herbert for a LONG time and Carr is no slouch, I applaud the Donks for pushing in all the chips in a great QB.

Their only other choice was to risk another shit QB draft pick or just accept losing.

Another thing people are skipping over is that Russell Wilson isn't a great fit in the McVay/Lafleur offense that Hackett will run.

People were wondering why it seemed like he held on to the ball last year. Well, Wilson's arm is below average for attacking middle of the field throws. He is an incredible deep ball thrower but he doesn't have the zip others do.

Hackett offense is all about attacking middle of the field. Rodgers looks great in it. Wilson won't look like Rodgers in this scheme.

I am still waiting for a Denver fan to reveal the “loaded” talent supposedly on their offense that Russell Wilson is entering.

Not a single Pro Bowl or All Pro WR/TE/RB on Denver’s offense.

What skill position player compares to a DK Metcalf-caliber talent who Wilson had in Seattle?

Not sure if any of them are DK Metcalf level, but the group as a whole is stacked--Sutton, Patrick, Jeudy, all borderline pro bowl talents. So the question is whether you like one all-world receiver or three excellent receivers. Hamler remains a question.

If you don't realize Davonte Williams is good, you haven't watched games. He was 13th in rushing as a rookie, while sharing touches with Gordon (ranked 11th in rushing).

But your argument kind of begs the question--the Broncos had a terrible offense the last few years because of lack of QB talent. One or two of those receivers is going to explode with Wilson throwing to them.

Unfortunately I lean toward the latter. Competent QB play from the Broncos isn't something we've seen from them in forever. And with Williams in the backfield, solid receivers, and a good defense, I don't think this should be celebrated by Chiefs fans.

Pretty sure we weren't winning that late season game in Denver had it been Wilson behind center instead of Lock.

Wilson had plenty of offensive weapons in Seattle. And last year wasn't his only down year, he has had 2 in a row now.

This makes Denver better but still the #3 team in the division at best.

And talk about games played last year with x player vs y is nonsense, we all know this so no reason to use the example. KC knew who they were playing.

Denver overpaid IMO, plain and simple. Maybe they had to just to appease the fanbase since they have been dogshit for 6 years in a row and obviously cant draft a QB for shit.

RedinTexas 03-09-2022 04:26 PM

It's not a terrible move by Denver. They've tried to draft quarterbacks several times and come up with snake eyes. It's a smart move to recognize that you're not good at drafting quarterbacks, so just go get one from someone else. It's costing them a lot of draft capital, but it's not like they were going to do much without a decent qb. Now they're just going to have to fill the other holes without those first and second rounders.

A few “border line Pro Bowl” WR’s and a RB who was 13th in the NFL in rushing is your definition of a “loaded” offense?

Obviously a low threshold for greatness in Denver.

ThaVirus 03-09-2022 04:30 PM

The Broncos O has some talent that hasn't had a chance to shine given their QB situation since Manning retired.

Jeudy, Sutton, Javonte Williams, Patrick, Albert O. It's a decent group that is primed to look better with competent QB play, but it's reaching to say they're loaded.
