I'm by no means bashing the defense, but the stats past week 11 just don't paint an accurate picture I don't think.
The 49ers in that time played Arizona, Green Bay, Baltimore, New Orleans, Atlanta, LA(Rams), and Seattle.
The Chiefs in that time played LA(Chargers), Bye Week, Oakland, New England, Denver, Chicago, LA(Chargers).
Which list of offenses would you rather face?
I'm sure the Chiefs had some key injuries as well, I don't know for sure, but the 49ers were missing 3 of their top defenders for most of that stretch, all of which are back now.
Again, not bashing the Chiefs defense at all, but cherry picking the Week 11 stats just doesn't make sense to me.

Of course, I don't think any team is the same now as it was in Week 1.
KC picked up two big time players during the season and the early stats won't show that: Mike Pennel and Terrell Suggs. Both of these guys have helped KC become a better defense as the season moves along. Plus they have a new DC, so the early games of the season did not really give a fair idea of what the new DC's defense would look like at the end of the season.
Now it's gonna be interesting to see what happens with the Niners passing game. Thornhill is a big loss for the Chiefs' secondary. They got away with it the last two weeks, but could end up being a difference maker to help the Niners win the ballgame.
