The 49ers in that time played Arizona, Green Bay, Baltimore, New Orleans, Atlanta, LA(Rams), and Seattle.

The Chiefs in that time played LA(Chargers), Bye Week, Oakland, New England, Denver, Chicago, LA(Chargers).

Which list of offenses would you rather face?

I'm sure the Chiefs had some key injuries as well, I don't know for sure, but the 49ers were missing 3 of their top defenders for most of that stretch, all of which are back now.

Again, not bashing the Chiefs defense at all, but cherry picking the Week 11 stats just doesn't make sense to me is all.

Yea which is clearly shown in the difference in PPG. Nobody is saying the Chiefs defense is better, it’s just a lot closer than people that don’t watch the Chiefs enough to know how much the defense has improved think.

Also, if you want to start talking about schedules and injuries, the Chiefs have had a MUCH tougher road during the season/playoffs dealing with MUCH worse injuries.

The clearest examples would be the two games against Arizona because we couldn't really run at all in those two games, particularly the second one when Kittle didn't play.

He also didn't play the 4th quarter of the first game because of injuries.

Jimmy's had other games where's had good games and came through in clutch moments (Saints, Rams, Steelers), but the running game wasn't totally neutralized like in the Arizona games.

Niners trolls are here already? Thought it'd be at least four or five days before they drifted in with their cockamamie ideas about how Jimmy G. is a better QB than Mahomes . ..

Of course, I don't think any team is the same now as it was in Week 1.

KC picked up two big time players during the season and the early stats won't show that: Mike Pennel and Terrell Suggs. Both of these guys have helped KC become a better defense as the season moves along. Plus they have a new DC, so the early games of the season did not really give a fair idea of what the new DC's defense would look like at the end of the season.

Now it's gonna be interesting to see what happens with the Niners passing game. Thornhill is a big loss for the Chiefs' secondary. They got away with it the last two weeks, but could end up being a difference maker to help the Niners win the ballgame.

Don’t let this fool you from the fact that the 9ers are ranked 2nd in total defense. And KC is 17th.

He has never sacked Mahomes. Got Smith a few times in 16 and 17.

I think the schedules are comparable.

As for injuries, I don't know the Chiefs entire injury situation, but ours has been pretty brutal throughout the year as well.

I hear what you are saying, I haven't heard much about the Chiefs defense, so certainly possible they haven't gotten enough credit this year. My point was more so cherry picking the Week 11 stats.

As for injuries, I can't speak on the Chiefs injuries, but the 49ers dealt with a ton themselves all season.

Don’t let this fool you from the fact that the 49ers are currently 5th in PPG whole the Chiefs are 10th. A difference of 1.3 points per game.

This is with a MUCH tougher schedule and a completely new defense (players and scheme/coaches).

Wasn’t a whole different defensive scheme to learn or anything.

He doesn't really do much and now that I think about it the big time pass rushers like Von Miller don't usually have big games against us. We had more problems with Aaron Donald than most of the edge pass rushers.
