Rape statistics are a hard one because most rapes are not reported. Hard to know if there is really more sexual assault or just more awareness. Suicide has crept up but I'm not sure it's dramatically higher. Not sure meth babies is any more of a thing than crack babies of yesteryear. Fentanyl is a big deal. I certainly wouldn't be so casual with things like I was back in the day. That is one way kids today have it worse. :shake: |

Trucks weren't popular in the 70s kids wanted muscle cars or dune and rail buggies. Oh and freaking hippie vans.

This was the color of the Fastback 500 with 302 V-8 no fancy Keystone or Cragar wheels but a badass Kmart external 8 track tape deck. Also a massive bench backseat.

She came out to the patio saying she was leaving and my SIL said not until he came in to meet me. She gave a little bit of an eye roll but he soon appeared. Had a nice conversation but my SIL grilled them pretty good about where they were going and doing. When they left he asked me what I thought and I just raised my arms and said I'm out, this is your problem. But I also told him he was doing a fine job raising girls. |

I actually remember school starting after Labor Day and ending right before Memorial Day. Not sure if that’s a thing in any states anymore as it sure isn’t that way in Colorado.

There was a Jerry Lewis theater in the mall near where we lived. Double feature Saturdays and all that.
Saw Kelly’s Heroes with all that star studded cast (Donald Sutherland - my god he was incredible as Oddball) and Skyjacked Charleton Heston with James Brolin (prior fame as Marcus Welby MD’s assistant physician Dr Kiley) and Rosie Grier. (LA Rams Defensive tackle). I later would work in that theater. Cleaning it on Saturday and Sunday mornings for a few bucks. (And the money that patrons dropped on the floor. |

Here, the older millennials are the ones who saw the gun racks disappear from the parking lots and the mental health issues begin to explode in school. Cell phone cameras hadn't quite ruined the craziness and freedom of youth. Then 9/11 showed them similar old school to new school changes within society prior to becoming actual adults. It's easy to see why they'd love to flip the freedom switch back to just before those sweeping changes occurred. |

I miss parties where nobody had phones. You threw in a tape or CD at a request, pounded beer, took shots, and actually talked to people.
It was simple, and it was great. No selfies, no social media, just people. The only thing you afterwards was the memory of it or a couple blurry polaroids. |
Stingray If I remember right,I thought they were the shit .

The same people who bitch about kids always being inside and playing video games are the same people who call the police when kids are outside.
Not outside doing anything wrong...literally just the presence of kids out and about is deemed as suspicious by the same people who love to go on about these generational problems. |

When I moved to Florida at 19 I noticed another Chevy on one of those rotating displays on the way to my girlfriends sisters apartment. Turns out they just wanted to break us up so they kicked me out as soon as we got there. I went to the local pick kwick and called a cab. 2 hours later I showed up and picked her up. The look on their face when I drove up and honked was priceless. It was a white with a 350. Not as nice as my friends but it was pretty sweet. They both had beds in the back with sitting on big ass speakers with a great sound system in the ceiling above the drivers seat. Captains chairs, pull curtains, fridge with shag carpeting. Tons of storage under the bed, TV VCR. I loved those vans. I am seriously going to look for one now for my boy. It's amazing how many of those things are still original owners. One of the great thing about these was going to parties. You never had to drive drunk amongst other benefits. |

I'm 47, and I enjoy waxing nostalgic as much as the next guy about the fun things from my childhood, and young adulthood that the kids now are "missing out on". But man, the more I read, OP really comes across as nothing more than a thoughtless, knuckle-dragging douche canoe. Just my two cents.

Had a 455 HP Trans Am in my late 20s for about a year. It was fast as hell but broke down all the time. It was a good thing I had mechanics as friends but the maintenance just got to be too much. Had some fun in that bad boy though. |

Had an account here for a long time, but I rarely logged in, lurking for years, until I started this "new" account. I'm still not much of a poster, and additionally, I've never played any of the games, so I don't know why I have negative casino cash. |

They don't say they are playing....they say they are "up to no good" and when we ask what exactly they are doing that is suspicious they do not have a great answer. They also tell us "they don't belong around here" because people think their neighborhood is just for them. Or "there have been break ins in the area" connecting these random kids doing nothing wrong to crimes that may or may not even happened. This trend has become literally famous with everyone talking about Karens getting in the business of people doing nothing wrong. I have been doing this for a decade but I don't know what I am talking about. LMAO |
