He's one of a handful of guys I just didn't look into or think much about, for whatever reason. McDonald was another. I'm not even sure why. Some vague idea that they wouldn't take the 6-7-8th guys at a position, which doesn't even really make sense if it's a deep group, which of course it is.
I guess the main thing I like on the surface is that he only turned 21 in January. That's a huge positive to me, especially in the 1st round. Someone who isn't totally raw, he's produced and knows how to play, but he's also got a bunch of room to grow. We need someone who can help us repeat, but also with upside. Fingers crossed we hit. Our Nascar package looks nice with GK-CJ-Omen-FAU. |
Him being 21 is a big deal, when you compare him to some of the other guys. I'd have rather had McDonald but obviously that wasn't happening.
|
In 4 or 5 years he will be know as one of the best edge's in the NFL. I was surprised he was available. EMAW!

Aw jeez, IDK, I mean...Lees F'n Summit?!?!?
/jk, I lke the pick. |
I’m pretty good with this. I would’ve preferred a WR but a pass rusher will do too.
There’s also a part of me that felt we didn’t trade up or down so we can announce the last pick of the night. Overall, an insanely cool build up to the pick. But wonder if we could’ve at least traded back so someone else can grab a qb. |

I’ll weigh in here
I think FAU is a solid pick at a premium position. Personally, I liked Foskey better as an edge prospect but I won’t argue Veach’s board. Overall, a B- |

Saw a Matthew Judon comparison. If that's what he is, man that would be ideal.

I like this pick. He’s athletic and long but he’s also a hard worker and relentless in pursuit. He’s going to pair with George real well IMO

Good value at a position of need. Nothing not to like about the pick.

But seriously, no. Didn’t even realize it until I finished and looked at the names lol. |

Would I like to have a Micah Parsons? Sure absolutely. Those guys go super early in the draft and we're a SB contender every year. |

Love his post-sack celebration! Gonna be seeing a lot of it this season.

89 pressures in his last 2 years holy shit LMAO
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">There's a lot to like about Felix Anudike-Uzomah, but this note from PFF may be my favorite:<br><br>"Felix is one of the best edge benders in this class, and he's going to convert a lot of pressures into sacks because of it. He was absolutely going to be drafted right around where he was. He didn’t go earlier than projected. |
No one tell Prison Bitch that there's a black guy with a foreign name living in his town.

I'm naturally excited because I'm a K-State guy, so I actually was trying to harness that last night and view it through a neutral or even negative lens.
After some sleep, I'm realizing that that any negative feelings I had last night were more about how shitty the board was to us, and nothing about this player. That's worn off. Now, keeping a neutral lens on this player, and there's so many things I love (aside from his alma mater): - He's only 21 - He's still physically growing and will only get bigger/stronger, which has been a trend he's been on for the past 3 years. - He played in less-than-ideal position (inside) often in a 3-4 front at K-State, and still produced pressures and sacks despite being the primary focus for the offense. - I have seen him wreck a game, Derrick Thomas style. He had 6 sacks in a game to set the NFL record, but because he so violently hit the QB, the QB actually fumbled the ball forward on two of them, and so they took the sack stat away. Absurd, but yeah. The only thing I remember being grumpy about when watching games the last two years was that sometimes he would disappear. I think a lot of that was the opposing offense scheming him out of the picture, doubling him, etc... If he does it right, with Jones being the primary focus, I think the kid has Tamba Hali floor and Justin Houston upside in the next couple years. I'm not saying he'll get 22 sacks a year, but I think he's going to be a bad mf'er that they're gonna have to deal with. |

The Bleacher report seemed to like the Chiefs pick.

McDonald may not have ever been asked to add weight. Though if it weren't something that FAU could do reasonably well, he's probably not playing DL and would've ended up playing Will... |
So there hasn't been a TON of talk about it and I remember hearing the idea of it somewhere but how long does Spags have left? And if he is starting to work his way out of the coaching world, could Cullen be next in line and starting to work in some of his type of players?

He went exactly where he should have.
He was always going in the 25-40 range. |
Also, we're gonna need a new name for this guy, cuz FAU aint it. Feels like we're talking about the university.

Honestly one could argue that between his production and his RAS he should have gone HIGHER. |

In Joe Cullen we trust.

About the only thing not to like about him is his slow get off. That may limit his ceiling.
But, uh, Tamba had a slow get off too when he came out of Penn state. But that's a HOF caliber sack dance if i've ever seen one. |

Just remember I coined that shit.
I'm going to be screaming "Uzi catches another body!" when dude gets a sack. And then my wife is going to look at me weird. So you know...normal shit. |

McDonald and Felix were my top DL fits for KC so I'm really happy.
Now get Tyler Scott.... |

I just got some insight on why Porter Jr fell. I have a friend that moved here from Bakersfield. He says that teams are moving him down their boards because he is a gangbanger. He says that NFL teams are aware of it, but it's not public information

I think Veach did the absolute best he could with FAU.
Majority of teams ahead of us were in direct competition with us for a Lombardi last year ie. Eagles, Bills, Bengals. Felt terrible for Veach after listening to the presser because it sounds like teams weren't picking up the phone when they saw him on the caller ID. And if they were, it was at an extreme unjustifiable premium. We pretty much got dicked for being overly successful. Not to mention if you listened to Reid it sounds as if they really thought long and hard about overpaying to move up but in the end abstained. Props to the FO for their discipline. I bet last night was real tough to swallow. |

How many sons of pro athletes actually become "gangbangers?". And who the **** says gangbanger any more? Roving the mean streets of whatever million dollar community his daddy put him in? |

Our front office is really dialing in and grabbing good football players at the top
Felix is an ass kicker and this feels like another Bolton, Humphrey player where you get him an not only do they have a high floor but the ceiling is high too. |
Sounds more to me like your "friend from Bakersfield" thinks all black people look the same.

Is it actual gangbanger or Ja Morant gangbanger?

I simply can not tell you what a gigantic shit hole Bakersfield is.
Never trust anything someone says if they're from Bakersfield. To give you an idea, I think their biggest celebrity is that Eatdatpussy freak show |
