I don't figure we see him until atleast the Denver game. Andy is super conservative with these injuries.

scho63 11-23-2022 02:47 PM

They said he "tweaked" his hammy. Not sure what constitutes a tweak for level of severity.

Kiimo 11-23-2022 02:48 PM

It might be in this very thread but I know I read that the injury wasn't considered serious at all

And he should be.

This team isn’t losing another regular season game with or without Toney. His ability can change the outcome of a playoff game, though. Either directly or indirectly, teams will need to prepare for him and out a plus cover guy on him. That’s really all that matters at this point.

Hamstring injuries (especially reinjuries) should be taken seriously and I’m pretty sure we won’t see Toney on the field for 2-3 weeks to let it fully heal. I won’t be shocked if he is wearing compression leg wear when he returns to practice/games, too.

KChiefs1 11-24-2022 08:49 AM

I’d sit him this week. Would be nice to see him vs Cincinnati.

Dunerdr 01-07-2023 10:56 PM

Love it. How were the Giants unable to find ways for him to be a difference maker? So shifty and explosive. Feels like he should be an impact player almost anywhere.

TwistedChief 01-07-2023 11:07 PM

He’s gonna **** people up for the next 3 years with the Chiefs. And Toney and Mecole on the field together in the playoffs…Gorgeous.

Eleazar 01-07-2023 11:07 PM

Looks like a great pickup as long as he can keep the hamstring problems away. Would like to see him making more of an impact in the downfield passing game, but he did join us at mid season.

Hammock Parties 01-07-2023 11:08 PM

Toney needs to play like Marvin Harrison and give himself up sooner.

He tries to break tackles like he's Derrick Henry.

He's gonna be a pro bowler if he stays healthy.

He and Pat already have a great connection and they've barely played together.

Still refuses to switch hands away from the defender. That kinda stuff will piss off many coaches whereas Andy sees past all that because he is a playmaker.

For sure. He’s so patient too, and seems to be really good at tracking the ball. He’s a stud.

BigCatDaddy 01-07-2023 11:17 PM

Like a bigger Dante Hall.. unfortunately, we will probably have to limit his snaps throughout his career to keep him healthy.

What’s funny is that this is the same guy who adjusted his gloves WHILE THE BALL WAS IN THE AIR. His whole body is twitching so quickly and he is so aware of the on-field situation, it would take nothing for him to slide the ball into his correct hand.

He’s so good at playing through contact too. It’s like he’s playing with a hidden 30lbs or something.

He sorta glides/squeezes through traffic like Charles used to do too.

Sassy Squatch 01-08-2023 08:26 AM

Yeah, but there were also a couple times yesterday I thought for sure he was done and he just ripped himself out of the defenders tackle to keep going.

Sassy Squatch 01-08-2023 08:30 AM

As long as he can keep Injurius Proney at bay, we'll be golden. But can someone please teach him a way to juke that doesn't look like he's tearing every muscle in his legs?

Chris Meck 01-08-2023 08:39 AM

Eh. Charles was quick but he was one of the smoothest runners I've ever seen. Toneys moves are violent.

ThaVirus 01-08-2023 09:42 AM

He’s electric but I’d prefer he do less fighting through tackles. Many times in the short time he’s been here I’ve noticed him wrapped up, fighting for extra yardage with only one arm securing the football. It’s a recipe for disaster and also makes him more likely to get hurt.

With this offense, that extra yard or two is nearly meaningless. Far more important to stay healthy and maintain possession of the football. 99 times out of 100 the next play is the more important one.

Good point. Ive noticed that also. Hopefuĺly Reid discusses it with him.

Easy 6 01-08-2023 10:10 AM

I seriously can't think of a better consolation prize for losing Reek than this guy, he's every bit as electric in his own way

Sassy Squatch 01-08-2023 11:32 AM

Yeah, there are things I hope the staff work on in the offseason but for now just let him do his thing.

Oh I agree , but once Toney makes his cut and goes he glides through traffic like Jamal did. I don’t know if that is an optical illusion due to their speed, or if they just have a knack for getting their upper body vertical but it’s fun to watch.

Its pretty easy to see how he is injury prone. Herky jerky and always trying to bust one. I like the gumption but you need to know when to dial it down.

He's young, and obviously wants to make a great play, but he needs to learn situational awareness. Probably should learn from Kelce. Travis knows when to take what's there and when to turn it on.

notorious 01-08-2023 03:27 PM

He is the hardest gadget guy to tackle after contact I think that I have ever seen , he definitely has the tools to develop into something pretty elite in this O.

redfan 01-22-2023 10:08 AM

KT is electric. Anytime he gets the ball there's anticipation of something amazing about to happen. Still can't believe the way he came to the team and the solid contribution to the offense he's made. Giants might have had some use for him last night; I wonder how Giants fans feel seeing him make plays for my fav team, the KC Chiefs.

tmax63 01-22-2023 10:57 AM

I think KT is going to be what they wanted Mecole Hardman to be although MH never quite got there.

The Giants prevented the Eagles from getting a ring by trading Toney to the Chiefs. Brilliant 4D level chess from the Giants against their division rival. Lol

Legit think it's something to do with having no eyebrows. Helps keep the sweat out and I doubt a headband would do the trick with all the times you take your helmet on and off in a game.
