This interview with the Haslam's is really awkward. Nothing like rolling out the wife to explain why you signed a sexual predator.

There are documented texts that he's sent apologizing for making an alleged victim feel uncomfortable. Dude knows he ****ed up at least somewhat. Pretty dumb to say that publicly.

He’s obviously not getting good legal advice (or is not listening to it) by not already settling these lawsuits and making them go away.
Letting them continue to linger, and eventually going to a civil trial with discovery? Pretty sure Watson doesn’t want that. |

That press conference was extremely embarrassing for the Browns franchise. I am not sure how you could not conclude that they simply don't care about the allegations. They won't say what they did to look into them. They say that they were thorough, even though some of the accusers have nothing on record yet. They won't say that they think he's innocent, only that they "believe in" him "as a person". The entire thing was them reciting legalese that amounted to "we don't care".
Someone posted elsewhere that Watson's contract is structured so that his salary this year is only $1 million, to minimize his financial losses if he is suspended this year. Scum franchise |

I just want a talking head on tv to have the nerve to say:

This is from Dan Pastorini's Wikipedia page.
Being the NFL QB in Houston, it is not that easy to keep it simple, apparently. Life outside football Pastorini raced hydroplanes, drag-raced cars, judged wet T-shirt contests, and starred in a 1974 B-movie called Weed: The Florida Connection and then co-starred in a 1979 Lee Majors movie called Killer Fish. He also played a role in the TV series "Voyagers!" as a gladiator and posed nude in 1980 for Playgirl magazine. He married glamor model June Wilkinson, who appeared in Playboy magazine. She is British and 9 years older. They had one child, a daughter named Brahna, and later divorced. Pastorini drove a Top Fuel dragster as part of the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series in the mid-1980s. He collected several national event victories. His first came in Atlanta at the NHRA Southern Nationals in 1986. He also participated in the 2009 Lamborghini Race located at Sebring International Raceway. Personal life Pastorini is an Honorary Texan. In January 2012, on The Jim Rome Radio Show, Pastorini recalled a story how then-Raider owner Al Davis completely blew him off in the locker room after a game. "He sneered at me" said Pastorini. Pastorini then went on to say that, "when he (Davis) passed away, I wasn't sad to see him go." Pastorini currently lives and works in Houston. His autobiography, Taking Flak: My Life in the Fast Lane, was released in November 2011 |

Dorsey you ignorant slut
According to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, “The Browns initially wanted at least a 2nd rounder and more for Baker Mayfield while refusing to take on any of the money on his contract.” Noting, “some NFL teams didn’t even believe he was a 1st rounder in the 2018 Draft. Browns made him 1st overall,”

I think it is safe to assume that, unlike Baker Mayfield, Deshaun Watson is not going to get paid to be a commercial spokesperson for any insurance companies.
Unless, that insurance is for something really extra super-duper specific. |
Watson’s cap hit for the Browns next season is $55MM. Garret’s hit will be $29MM. They will be 2nd to last cap space with lots of players hitting free agency and no day 1 draft picks lol. This was a laugh now cry later deal. A one year window and your star QB is most likely suspended 4-8 games. Good luck bruh

this is where i reiterate that watson will flat out fail now after all that has transpired. mark my words:
he will either not be on the roster by end of contract or he will be leading a team that max's out at 6 wins a year for the duration of the contract (injury could always be used as an excuse too). :thumb: |
The Mahomes contract keeps looking better and better.
|
So 18 of the women were willing to settle and Watson told them "No way."
What's he going to do? Go to trial 22 ****ing times? And win all of them? These cases have a way of wearing people down, so I imagine settlements will start to roll out eventually, but until then, he's got a lot of non-football stuff on his mind. And boy I'm going to laaaaaaaaaugh if he plays like utter crap for the Browns and/or something goes awry and he loses one or multiple of the cases which further restricts him from joining the team for a longer amount of time than expected. |
Quote:
he's ****ed either way... kareem hunt was overjoyed watson was signed. he may rush for 2000 yards. :D I liken this scenario to the joke Chappelle made about Cosby... he rapes but he saves... this is what Cleveland fans are going thru right now. |

The Cleveland Browns had so much promise and talent. They were so well positioned to at least be really good for a pretty good run. And then they hit this self-destruct button. What a disastrous decision. Can't imagine being a Browns fan.
|
Would be hilarious if Watson couldn't play and they had to tuck their tail between their legs and run back to Baker lol
|
Quote:
Yes, Tyreek had the situation in college which was obviously fairly horrible. But he was young and by all accounts it was an isolated incident. And people at that age are more prone to make mistakes and have more room to grow and improve. (Note: I'm ignoring both the possibility that the situation in college was less bad than it appeared as well as the stuff that happened with his son a few years ago.) Watson on the other hand seems to have a serial problem in this respect. Not a one-time thing. And to me that plays a little bit different. I'd hate to be a Browns fan needing to defend the guy. Here you are, a fan of a team that for years has been a loser but at least a loveable loser that fans of opposing teams could actually support (not unlike the Bengals), and you suddenly skip the line because you're willing to pay more than anyone else for Watson. Yeah, I wanted the Chiefs to win, but if we did it by getting Watson, the SB victory wouldn't have been remotely as satisfying. |
Quote:
It appears Tyreek was in a toxic relationship, and with time, I think that been proven to be the case. Like you said, Watson’s issues are more serial. |

The Browns are a joke. What it says about how the Texans are run. When this is Watson's preferred outcome is as shameful as Watson's acts

I'm just laughing at stevie's hypocrisy. He's talking about how NFL players should be choir boys due to how much they get paid and lamenting how we, as fans, have lowered the bar for them. Whole time he's cheering for a team that employs Tyreek Hill, Frank Clark, Willie Gay, etc. as well as a coach who clearly has some issues raising functional children. Who cares about any of that? Not me, but apparently stevie does. It's just amusing. |

We hold highly paid professionals to a high standard in almost every aspect of life, except a few areas, sports being one of them. The majority of NFL players hold themselves to that standard, past and present. You can mock me all you want for hoping for the best for the players, team and city. I can't control what they do..you have no problem with it, as long as you are entertained. That's lowering the bar. Clark, like his father, is HUGE on giving back to the community. Pretty sure he doesn't just gloss over those incidents as if they didn't matter. |

I watch sports and Hollywood movies because the product on the field or the movie itself entertains me. I'm not trying to live my life vicariously through someone else. Except to the extent that the stories are unavoidable (because they overwhelm pages of Chiefs Planet like with Hill and obviously with Watson) I try not to get caught up with what Athletes do in their own time. I don't even watch interviews or talk shows. When he was close to retirement, I remember a co-worker saying he thought Paul Pierce sounded like a douche in interviews and I remembered thinking (despite watching a lot of Boston games because Pierce was a former Jayhawk), I hadn't ever seen him interviewed. If athletes commit crimes, they should be prosecuted like anyone else. But why on earth we should think they are better humans, or examples for the community just because of some natural athletic ability and ungodly paycheck is beyond me. And if it was up to me, I wouldn't exactly encourage the hero worship by trotting the players around to schools and whatnot. Because than what the hell do you do when shock of all shock (I'm absolutely shocked I tell you!) they don't all turn out to be choir boys!!! |

I hadn't really paid much attention to Watson's sexual assault issues up until the last few days after I watched the Real Sports special.
I have to say, I'm skeptical of these women's claims, though it appears Watson is definitely a creepy weirdo. No one needs that many masseuses lol and you definitely don't need to be ****ing multiple them, especially while you have a girlfriend. |
Think Hardin has ****ed him pretty badly by coming out and insinuating there definitely were sexual interactions with multiple "masseuses". But the Wheel of Discipline could give him a slap on the wrist and an unenthusiastic handjob for all we know.
|
Quote:
I haven’t dug into it, but from what I understand, Watson admitted to consensual sex with three or four of them, no? You’re right about the Wheel of Discipline, though. It could go a million different ways. According to the Real Sports segment, the NFL didn’t even speak to some of the masseuses. And recently they’ve got Watson’s agent lauding the league’s “thorough” investigation. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was a sort of plea deal. “Just hype us up a bit and we’ll lighten the suspension” sort of thing. |
