I’m more worried about our pass rush than Kelce/Tyreek getting injured.
Frank Clark is all we have at DE. Danna isn’t a starter and neither is Taco. That really worries me. Sure they can get Ingram, but I still think they need depth. It’s the weakest spot on the team right now by far. |

One of Ossai, Perkins or Ojulari will be there at 58. If we grade them high take em |
I still can’t get over my draft crush Quinn Meinerz and would be thrilled if he’s one of our picks today, even if I prefer other positions.
|
As much as I would love Basham, I’m sure he’ll be gone. Same with JOK.
Each remaining WR has some sort of issue, either size or durability (or both). Really looking like we’ll grab a DB for sure and probably an OL, TE, or LB. As long as we get value at our slot, I’m happy. You never complain about drafting a good player. |
Danna's fine as an early down DE. Sign Ingram to be your situational pass rusher. Then your Danna/Ingram/Taco/Ward has some depth. Absolutely draft a guy if you can, but don't reach.

Jabril Cox and Tylan Wallace please.

What do the Mizzou fans here think of Nick Bolton?

I'd rather have a LB like Gay that can play all 3 downs. |

Kind of the same way they've done with CB's. Especially in Spags system, LB just doesn't seem to be of priority. DE does though. But I don't think there's much value where we'll be. Who knows. |

I’ve really warmed up to Jabril Cox. He made a huge jump from NDSU to LSU and was a one of the best defenders on the Tigers. I don’t think a guy like that will have trouble translating to the NFL.
He’s like a bigger, faster version of Deion Jones. Plus he’d surely get Neiman’s ****ing ass off the field |

He just seems a bit redundant with Gay in taht they're very similar players. I'd be ok with it, more so with the 2nd 2nd round pick, but it woudln't be my preference. |
I watched the draft last night. Glad the Faiders over-reached for their guy. Glad the Bolts took a tackle instead of a skill position guy. Glad the Donks took a corner. They've had good corners before and we still beat them passing. I think our biggest need at this point is linebacker. They need an inside guy. If they can sign Ingram from the Bolts, he would be kind of like when we got Suggs two years ago. Hopefully Gay will come back healthy, and we can find somebody in this years draft to add to the mix. Also need corner help. We can probably get by with what we have on offense right now. But if a good tight end falls in their lap, sure. I also think (although I know I'm in the minority here) there's an outside chance they could bring Schwartz or Fisher back mid season if they are healthy enough to play. Fisher may never be a left tackle again, but may be a decent right tackle or guard once he heals. Schwartz.....hmmm....back problems are not good for big guys. He was super reliable before the injury. We'll just have to see what happens there. Chances are the Chiefs will just try to develop younger guys, but if we get injuries on the line again, who knows? Very excited to actually have picks tonight, and the draft will move faster. That's a good thing too. Here's to Bruce Valanche doing that voodoo that he do soooo wellllllll !!!

With Gay on that side and Cox on the other, you could slide back into nickel and keep Gay on the field. Cox would roll over into the Sorenson role. They complement each other well enough, and have enough athleticism, that you could keep both of them on the field for all 3 downs theoretically. |

Don’t be surprised if we take Elerson Smith...

Fast LB's = Fast Defense.
You wanna take this D's athleticism up a notch, you get some rangy sideline to sideline thumpers that'll meet a back in the hole with violent intentions. |

They still need corners and there's going to be excellent value at the end of the 2nd round. They'd be doing themselves a great disservice if they passed on that value because they have Deandre Baker on a 1-year deal. |

It also doesn't appear there will be elite talent at defensive end available at 63. So I'd like to see one of the top two remaining tight ends, if still there. I'm enticed by the idea of having an actual weapon on the other side of the formation from Kelce. And I would almost always prefer getting a top 1-3 elite player at a "lesser" position than the 9th or 10th best player at a "premium" position. Particularly if that "lesser" position is one of need, like tight end is for the Chiefs. |

Honestly, I think trading back and getting an early 4th would really be ideal.
2. Dyami Brown, WR, North Carolina 3. Elijah Molden, CB, Washington 4. Kendrick Green, C/OG, Illinois 4. Janarius Robinson, EDGE, Florida State 5. Jamien Sherwood, S, Auburn 5. Tre McKitty, TE, Georgia 6. Buddy Johnson, LB, Texas A&M |

Knowing the early 2nd to early 3rd is viewed as the strength of this class, that’s probably where we will see the most trades happen.

Bc if he is and we take him I’ll be ecstatic |

I'd be willingly to bet that he's starting by the end of the season. Injuries aside of course. |
I feel like somebody is going to fall to us unexpectedly, it’s just a matter of who.

After that first round, I feel even better about the Brown trade. I didn’t think it was possible to feel better about than I already did.

Veach loves those SEC guys. Gotta wonder if Marshall slides that far to us ala D.K Metcalf.

I honestly don’t think we will be picking any OL. We are 9 deep currently. Brown, Thuney, Blythe, LDT, Niang, Rankin, Remmers, Long, Allegretti

But what it would do is, hopefully, give us a guy that can win his 1v1 matchup more consistently than Pringle or Robinson when Tyreek/Kelce are being doubled. |

DE and LB in rd 2
C/G in the 4th We really need a quality DE to play opposite of Clark. We lost Wilson and we started Neimann last year. Hopefully Willie Gay can stay healthy but we still need more talent at LB. |

You move up and down to get the best play you can at the positions you need. We have 2 picks in the 2nd. Veech needs to get the best DE and LB he can by using those 2 picks. |
Quote:
Clark-Reed-Nnadi/Saunders-Jones (in the snaps that Jones is wide) is one of the best DLines in the league. I personally think Taco and Danna are solid enough to spell that rotationally. I would still love to add a DE in the 2nd or 4th looking forward to next year, but I think Veach has set us up for flexibility at edge and we aren’t forced to take one today. |

You don't reach for a position. KC is not in a spot where they have no way to fill a hole without reaching. We do need help at those spots but you don't reach to do it. There are still free agents out there, and there will be more post draft. Stay true to your board, don't reach, and take the best player. |

There are a couple of guys that might make it to us in the 2nd. If they don't, there are more that may be there in the 4th. Don't reach. |

You don't take a guy you have a 4th round grade on in the second because you feel a need at that position. That's BAD player value. |

Good drafters do it all the time. If the guy they want will last longer they move down. If the guy they want won't last to their pick they move up. Really good drafters pick up more when they move down than they have to pay when they move up so all the moving around doesn't cost them too much. Ozzie Newsome was a good one |
One of the 2nd round picks should be an athletic SPARQ hero on defense
