Chiefs get to practice at the Dolphins facility right? I know we get to choose our jerseys.
I’m thinking red on red. Not nervous about wearing home jerseys due to recent history. Eagles broke their curse wearing their home jerseys. |
We have Mahomes, they have Garoppolo. Stop the run, don't turn it over and it's a lock we win by at least 10.
|
They also need to have the end zones in both teams old school style they’ve done this postseason.
Would be so badass |

LOL our passing game is a liiiiiittle bit better than Grbac/Gannon. We're more like the '97 Broncos |

Laughable post Brady Ben and both Mannings as game managers lmao |
This stretch running game/PA junk only works for a period of time.
It worked for the Titans for 1.5 quarters then that was it. It's not beating an explosive offense like ours. SF had trouble with Seattle. We're Seattle on steroids. |

Right, but the season didn't start today. For the season, we were 13th in passing (4th overall and 2nd in scoring). Jimmy's had multiple 300+ 4 TD games. The last two games were an anomaly because they couldn't stop the run at all. |

You may think you have something, but in reality you have a loser head coach that lost a 28-3 lead in a ****ing Super Bowl. Your coach WILL choke this game away. |

My point was throwing the ball 8 times isn’t the norm. I think there’s this narrative that Jimmy is some Dilfer-esque game manager when he’s not. We’ve won both shootouts and slugfests. |

Chiefs are the home team. We’re trying to get the NFL to allow us to wear our all-white throwback uniforms. |

throwing 13 picks in 2019 on less than 30 passes a game is not good - garoppolo's interception percentage this year was bottom 10 so **** off comparing your passing game to john elway, rod smith, ed mcaffery and shannon sharpe it's not even in the same galaxy you have one threat in the passing game and that is going to be cake for steve spagnuolo to take away you better pray the Chiefs revamped run defense doesn't ball out like it did against Derrick Henry, or it's going to be a very long day for your mediocre QB |

LOL all right, man. It’s all good. I’m not gonna convince you Jimmy G is a legit QB. Doesn’t really matter at this point. We’ll see how it plays in 2 weeks. |
Anticipating this tomorrow: Skip Bayless says, "Raheem Mostert ran for 220 yards and 4 TDs vs a better GB defense. The Chiefs can't stop any good RB. The Chiefs are doomed." LMAOLMAOLMAOLMAOLMAO

I will say the same thing I said before the Titans game. Although I will note first that the 9ers are a MUCH better team than the Tits. But:
If the Chiefs show up and play their A game, they will win. There is simply not a team in the world that can beat the Chiefs -- because of Mahomes -- if they, and he, are at their peak. The great thing about sports is that you just never know what version of a team will show up. But Andy Reid with 2 weeks to prepare? Patrick Mahomes vs Jimmy Pollo? I like our chances. |
good morning guys
firstly well done on making the superbowl. I am heading over from the UK to watch it, me and my girlfriend can't wait ! so it would be good to know if there will be a tailgate or where you guys are watching it Once i am aloud to start a thread i will ATB Neale |

8 passes in a title game Humiliating |
Niners are tough but overrated. They had a soft schedule in the regular season. And the team they beat in the NFCC nearly lost to good Ole' Midnight Hour. Their DL is great but their secondary cant come close to matching our speed. I'm very confident.
Two words I have to describe the Niners: Uncontested. Unexplosive. |

There's one thing that makes me a little nervous. Robert Saleh.
Does he run the same defense as Gus Bradley? Although we're awesome against zone, Bradley's defense seems to be one of the few that's kind of stumped Mahomes. Good news is Andy has 2 weeks to prepare for that. |
49ers have an elite offensive line that don't doesn't hold every other play like Nashville. And that zone running scheme is tricky. But none of that matters if the chiefs get a two score lead. And if Gerapallo starts throwing pickles (like he normally does) then it's lights out. Should be a close game.
|
The most indirect thing I love about a Chiefs/49ers Super Bowl is that Raider fans are pissed off and will have nothing but 2 weeks of misery leading up to kickoff.
|
There's a reason that even the analysts say things like this about Garapollo, "He'll throw you 3 are you gonna catch em?"
|
SF is full of Niner bundle of stickss, just like this thread.
|
Niners have a great D but have never faced an O like KC’s. Mahomes is nearly indefensible. Too many weapons and if you cover them all he’ll run for yards.
Garoppolo is better than you all give him credit for, but the Chiefs D is also better than it was. Much like Tennessee, they’ll stop the run and force Jimmy G to win it and, lie Tannehill, he can’t match TDs with Mahomes. I see a very similar game to this Titans one. Niners will be close at the half but lose by 17. |

I'm less scared of Mostert than Henry , personally. Let him run to the edge... |
King Mostert and Prince Jimmy are standing in our way? Oh no, whatever will we do?
If we play our game, we win. We should be able to key in on the run as we did against the Titans. Garoppolo is a decent QB but our secondary is solid. Mahomes is the best player on the field and will will us to victory. 28-21. |
Defensively, Mostert is a home run threat. So is Breida if he gets the rock much. Tevin Coleman is the least scary member of that backfield, IMO, and might not play.
Their offense is dangerous because Shanahan is a great playcaller and they execute well, with good talent and balance. Spagnuolo is going to have to have a great plan. Offensively, looking at their secondary, that’s a tough matchup for them outside Richard Sherman if the front 4 can’t generate pressure. As I understand it, Sherman doesn’t “travel” with receivers (still) so KC can scheme away from him if necessary. Their LBs are smaller/faster types who are solid in coverage, but there’s not a Derwin James in that back 7 to help really neutralize Kelce. It’s going to come down To how much the Chiefs fan protect Mahomes. If they give him time - and I think they will - he will do his thing. |
If I were the 49ers, I think I have to consider playing Bitchmade on early downs to try and get my best pass rush out there all the time.
Chiefs would likely adjust to a lot of runs to Bitchmade’s side, even if not in 21 personnel, since WRs can routinely block Bitchmade out of it in the run game and you can run right at him. But that might play to San Francisco’s advantage if it means fewer balls in the air. |

Naw. Hell naw. The Niners are a good, solid football team. They run the ball well, they play good, solid defense. Kittle is great and Kelce's only true peer, in my opinion, at this point in time. Jimmy G? He ain't Elway. Not even old, almost about done Elway. Naw. Don't give me stats, because the genius of Elway was never statistically evident anyway. It was in his ability to pick his team up and carry them kicking and screaming to victory and rip the heart out of the opposing team and their fanbase. And he did it consistently. so no, Jimmy G does is not in any way, shape, or form John Elway. And you've got no Terrell Davis. Jimmy G is a less careful with the ball Alex Smith. That's cool. That can even be pretty good. It can even win a Superbowl IF everything goes just right. You're about to run into Patrick Mahomes. Everything ain't going to go just right. And Derrick Henry could only run for 69 yards against this defense. Throw the season stats out; they've been a totally different squad the second half of the year. New defense, you know. Took a little while to gel. And a lot of injuries to fight through. They're relatively healthy now. Naw, kid. You're not going to win this one. |
Quote:
He’s a less careful, less mobile version of KC-era Alex Smith. Who, due to scheme and talent around him, played as a tier 3 (12-20 range) NFL QB. If KC protects the ball and protects Mahomes, I like the matchup a great deal. |
They also don't move Sherman so you can literally scheme around him, I also don't know if they have the secondary speed to do much to the receivers here.
|
As much as we throw the ball, I’d like to think it wears down a set of pass rushers much quicker than they’re used to. Hope that’s the case here.
At the same time, it represents more opportunities to create sacks. |

Quote:
Their pass D numbers look good despite having JAGs other than Sherman - who has been excellent. It’s pass rush generated, I believe. I’ve seen some chatter suggesting Bitchmade will play on early downs to boost their pass rush. Hope that happens. I need to see WRs. Like Robinson blasting him out of the run game. As long as KC can give Mahomes time, he’ll move the ball. As always. |
Besides being healthy on offense, we'll be playing in warm weather. For as good as we've looked lately, I think we'll execute even better in the 70 degree air.
|
Can anyone confirm the nfl is dropping the “100” shield and replacing it with the normal nfl shield for the super bowl? We’ve worn the 100 shield throughout the playoffs and it has been dropped on all of the usual jersey sale sites.
Just wanted to make sure before I did a big group buy for friends and fam for the game. |
The Niners front flows extremely hard with run action — I look for Andy to have some boot shot plays ready to go. Intermediate routes sprinkled in.
They are so aggressive on their DL that it could become a weakness for Andy to exploit. |
That 9er DL is scary good. They could go all 07 Giants if you let them.
Block them up, let Pat be Pat and they'll be right there for a win. |
Run at Dee Ford when he’s in the game.. He will run away like a bitch..

I'd sweep right at him and put D-Rob on Ford. |
This is what Brett Veach said. I can actually see us extending Watkins tbh

If you can get him extended and make it work, I’m ok with it. He sold me yesterday on keeping him if possible. Draft a WR to replace Robinson. It’s a $7 million dead cap hit to cut him. If they can get the hit down from $21 to 10 or something like that, I’m good with it. |
Quote:
Bosa is the one to look out for. Shut him down and they are dead. Mitchell Schwartz is a big key to this game and I think he will perform. Bosa is a rookie and Schwartz is a master technician. Bosa won’t be able to make his bones off of pure talent anymore. |
The thing about the 9ers offense is that it’s so dependent on playcalling and scheme that Spags could put together a gameplan to slow to them down. This isn’t a team that’s out talenting people on that side of the ball, they’re just coached like a machine.
I think Spags can definitely come up with something to disrupt their rhythm. I don’t envision Mostert finishing the game with 230 yards rushing again. |

We normally manage Joey to some extent, so hopefully that happens here too. I’m sure he will make some plays, just hopefully no turnovers. |

I could see something where he gets a 2-3 year extension, with 2/3 of his base salary for 2020 converted to a signing bonus, and him getting a base salary of 10 million or so. It would save them $5-6 million against the cap next year (and also avoid $7 million of dead money) while also guaranteeing him more. No idea what Watkins would get on the open market, though. Might not be a good financial situation for him. |

If I had to bet money, I’d pick the Chiefs because Mahomes is just ridiculous. But Jimmy G is no Alex Smith. As someone who suffered for almost a decade under Smith’s reign of terror, it’s not even close. The team was garbage when we traded for Jimmy. We were 1-10 with a bad offense that couldn’t put up points. He comes in without even knowing the playbook and has our offense humming like stop 5 unit to close out the season. We goes down in 2018, then we suck again. He comes back and now we’re in the Super Bowl. He’s a winner, and he plays clutch on 3rd down and in the 4th quarter, two things Smith always sucked at. I think the Chiefs’ speed is probably too much to handle, but don’t expect some deer-in-headlights Alex Smith who’s throwing the ball in the dirt on 3rd down or overthrowing guys by 5 yards when they’re wide-ass open. |
Quote:
Veach and Reid have earned my trust. They’ll have a plan, probably already have one. I mentioned it in another thread the other day, the Chiefs can’t totally win or lose in the Jones situation. You’re either keeping an elite player or you’re gaining great draft capital and cap space, while also losing something too (Jones or space). |
Can’t be spotting them 10-20 points like the last two weeks.
They are better than the Texans and Titans. And no more special teams blunders. How did the Chiefs fall for that fake punt yesterday when everyone knew it was coming???? |

Smith got a raw deal, but he was never a confident player or thrower. He just didn’t have “it.” Part of the reason OCs kept getting fired was him. If things had been more stable for him, he might’ve had a better career, but he just didn’t have the arm talent or mental makeup of a franchise QB, IMO. |
The rebuild should start this year. Tag and trade Jones. Move on from Sammy unless there's a dramatic contract revision. Veach should prepare to trade back a time or two. It's a new world with the Mahomes contract. Upgrade the O line. Draft a young CB, RB, ILB. There will be FA's who want to play with Mahomes-- sign a few who will take less for a shot at another Super Bowl run.

Quote:
I agree that he isn’t an upper level franchise guy. He just isn’t that guy. I also don’t think Jimmy G would be near as successful in the situation that Smith came into either though. |
Just watched the 49ers/Packers game. Holy shit did the Packers look sloppy. They did literally everything they could to **** up.
Roughing the passer, completely undisciplined gap maintenance on run defense, no creativity and just poor effort overall. That could not have been an easier game for the Niners. |
