Probably a good idea but it's so hard to do because it's so unnatural and you don't have to do it against anyone else.

eDave 12-01-2019 01:09 PM

Better review that

Refs are looking for it.

Sassy Squatch 12-01-2019 01:10 PM

49ers taking cheap shots. Might as well.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-01-2019 01:10 PM

Does Mahomes ever get those calls? Feels rare

Rasputin 12-01-2019 01:10 PM

Wish they'd show that kr on replay that was a hell of a hit on browns returner

Low is the reason. Still bs

DRM08 12-01-2019 01:11 PM

Lamar getting better treatment from the refs than any mobile QB in the past, including Mahomes.

CasselGotPeedOn 12-01-2019 01:11 PM

Good throw that bitch Ingram down

O.city 12-01-2019 01:12 PM

If you can make him have to stand in and make throws from the pocket you can stop them

Easier said than done

Sassy Squatch 12-01-2019 01:12 PM

That was a pretty poor pass.

TribalElder 12-01-2019 01:12 PM

All the media talking heads are slobbering on Baltimores nuts about this revolutionary offense

I have watched this shit today and I find this offense gimmicky and kind of boring to be honest

if I wanted to watch stupid option shit I would tune in to scrub ass college teams but whatever

So... Foles coming back and starting was definitely a mistake.

Action packed Ravens game, or watch Pittsburgh put up negative offensive numbers?

I’m so ****ing glad I got the latter!!!

crayzkirk 12-01-2019 01:13 PM

49ers/Ravens is a good non-Chiefs game. Both teams are making plays on both sides of the ball, officials are, for the most part, letting them play and it's football weather.

Imon Yourside 12-01-2019 01:13 PM

All that avoiding the sack and for nothing. I'm thankful for Mahomes that would have been a firstdown but most likely a touchdown.

Remember the wildcat? It was similar in popularity when Miami was running it and Ronnie Brown was making lots look stupid. It lasted about a year before NFL defenses figured it out. This too shall pass give it time.

He’s more elusive than cam

Can’t hit what you can’t catch

pugsnotdrugs19 12-01-2019 01:15 PM

His throws have been pretty awful all day. Let’s call it like it is.

But they haven’t been able to intercept one which is where you could really change the game. They score every drive otherwise.

They can’t stop the run at all. In this weather you have to keep going with it.

Ravens can’t stop their running game. God I wish we had a running game!

tk13 12-01-2019 01:17 PM

I don't think this will last forever because running QBs rarely do, but remember Greg Roman was doing this almost 10 years ago with Kaepernick. Hard to say that's a fluke.

And then defenses started stifling him because he was never that great of a thrower. It’s eerily similar to Jackson IMO

That's a bad comp. The wildcat was never going to last because there was no passing threat and no QB on the field.

This is a pretty typical read option/RPO offense. Jackson's mobility and ability to throw is what makes it hard to stop. There isn't much in this offense that is unlike what you see all over college. And for as much as people bitch about college offenses, that's where the Chiefs' RPO packages came from, and it's where the spread came from.

If you stack the box to stop the run, he can hit his TE's or Brown deep. If you play a traditional defense, they can run it down your throat. Is it sustainable? Probably not over 10+ years, but it's not a matter of just dusting off schemes to run against the Wing T, which is all the wildcat really was.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-01-2019 01:20 PM

Ravens getting ran on pretty good here. Hope we can establish something better in that element moving forward.

Wisniewski may be starting today at OC, FWIW.

Jackson's a pretty great runner though. It all depends on coaching. Michael Vick lasted a long time because Reid got ahold of him.

Correct, but the entire league was enamored by it when it was working and that’s what I’m referring to primarily.

This is an important distinction. Some guys have great speed but take big hits. RG III is the epitome of this. Other guys are incredibly elusive and always manage to miss getting smoked.

When your QB is trying to truck stick people, like Cam did, he's probably not going to last as long. If you run and try to get down at the right time, your shelf life will be extended.
