He's developed a lot since then though

And if the Chiefs lose? Still don't care. We have a franchise QB. 1 regular season game is meaningless now.

It's not like the Alex Smith days where 1 game could be an indication of things to come. Nah. Now 1 game means 1 game.

I'm not worried about one loss. But there is always the seeding in the playoffs. KC could be playing for home-field advantage, especially with the winner getting the tie-breaker.

I don't know if anything would make me happier right now than if the Chiefs discovered a way to blow these mother****ers out. Like, I'll be all smiles for at least a week.

O.city 10-04-2018 12:52 PM

I'd like to just go 12-4 and have HFA.

If they're 12-3 going into week 16 though and have everything wrapped up just forfeit.

Since you saw him play at Texas Tech, how was he in rainy conditions? There's supposed to be 100% chance of rain on Sunday so if it's a sloppy mess do you think Pat will handle it well or do recall if he ever played in those conditions?

To be honest I don’t remember us having any big rain games from 2014-2016. There was a game at Iowa State with cold weather where the entire team struggled and got blown out. Pat was dealing with multiple nagging injuries in shoulder, wrist, knee, etc.

I think having Sammy in there makes a huge difference... yeah, you have to account for Hill and Kelce, but ****...you can't just neglect someone as talented as Sammy Watkins...a dude who was considered the "must have" WR prospect in his respective 2014 draft class...a class that consisted of:

#4 overall pick: Sammy Watkins
#7 Mike Evans
#12 ODB
#20 Brandon Cooks
#28 Kelvin Benjamin
#53 Davante Adams
#61 Allen Robinson
#91 John Brown
#90 Donte Moncrief
#118 Martavis Bryant

I mean, and there didn't really seem to be much debate as to which WR was going to be selected first. It seemed like a foregone conclusion that Sammy was the best WR and would be the first one off the board...despite some huge ODB fans pre-draft. This guy was assessed to be the best WR in that class and very well could have that reputation now if he had guys other than EJ Manuel, Tyrod Taylor and rookie Goff throwing to him...maybe we consistently see that from him this year.

The dude has to be freaking accounted for... he's not freaking Quincey Enunwa, Chris Hogan, Corey Campbell, Josh Doctson or someone completely underwhelming like those guys, for ****'s sake. He'd be a WR1 most everywhere else. With Ramsey likely battling Reek the majority of the game, having Sammy in there and torching inferior talent like AJ Bouye and Barry Church or whoever they put on him will be key. Could be a big game for him. And Patrick will find him.

Good God this offense was crafted perfectly when it comes to the skill positions.

(sidenote: the first two RB's selected in that 2014 draft were Bishop Sankey and Jeremy Hill )

You're killing it today.

Exactly.

Forget the smack talk, lets just talk facts here. There is no WR faster than Tyreek (or player for that matter), and he is amazing off the LOS. Like maybe the best in the league right now.

If Ramsey presses him, he's not in a good spot. No corner is.

RunKC 10-04-2018 02:11 PM

90% chance of rain. Damnit it’s gonna be harder for our offense to pass.

This sucks. I’m so pumped to see our QB throw bombs in person and now I’ll be sitting in pouring rain watching teams be careful due to freaking weather conditions.

Ramsey knows this. They're just jawing for fun. Good. Im all about it.

Fact is, Ramsey will have safety help over the top all game long.

Patrick Mahomes.

The passing game will be fine. If anything, the rain makes it harder for the DB's to stick.

Sassy Squatch 10-04-2018 02:12 PM

Ramsey is probably going to get real "personal" with Tyreek during the game. He had a mild mannered dude like AJ Green ready to beat his ass.

Yep... saw it a couple years back against Buffalo when Alex and Tyrod Taylor both slung it all over the field in the rain for huge days. And it was 34 degrees that day, too.

Wbf. Mahomes has the arm to negate some of that stuff. Bortles on the other hand...

That’s with 5 drops. He wasn’t at his best but the receivers made it seem much worse. Drive-killing drops.

I think most of that was mile high. That was the 1st time he had to deal with noise issues while trying to get his guys in place. Plus the moment...

Well, I think it was DJ's Left Nut that brought it up but although Jax' front is solid, they don't have a Von Miller.

Miller was the guy that was in the offensive backfield most of the night. Jax doesn't have anybody that is even close to that disruptive.

So maybe the line will be alright.

This... needs to show him that he’s a bit more than just a “pro bowl return specialist.” Would love for both Tyreek and Sammy to have moments where they embarrass him.

And I think Jalen isn’t leading on to how he actually feels about Reek... deep down, I think he respects either Reek or Mahomes... they’ve had his attention since the preseason...

Both Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady took a blowtorch and lit up Jalen Ramsey and his overrated defense during the playoffs last year (lucky for Ramsey, Pittsburgh's defense was terrible enough to allow Bortles to drop 45 on them).

That’s what I was thinking! I remember watching that Steelers game...it was a straight up shoot out at the end from the way I remember it...like sloppy ass play by the D on both sides. It was Bortles who stepped up in that game.

He's a wannabe Richard Sherman without actually accomplishing anything.

Yeah it seemed like the O-line reverted back down to earth i hope this week they have their shit together. It's also at home so the crowed will be nice and quiet for them and so less false starts or stupid penalties.

If not for Patrick skill set getting out of trouble he would have been fisted in the pocket against Denver D.

Mahomes is a superstar. Let him make plays.

Let's GOOOOOOOOOOO

Kiimo 10-04-2018 05:53 PM

The Jacksonville boards are real confident.

I don't think this will be a score test, I'm going 21-18 Jags. The secondary hasn't had a pick, Yannick hasn't had a strip sack yet, we have guys who are yet to get going. I'm calling Mahomes getting picked, and I'm doubling down on it being his first throw and we will pick 6 him at some point too.

This D is for real.

Patty has played in 5 NFL games, we have the best defense in the league, pro bowlers and all pros, this game won't be close.

We will get many turnovers, and embarrass this fraud of a team.

41-17.

Baby face is going to chuck three picks Sunday. One of them will be a pick six.

There's going to be a few 50/50 balls thrown up in this game with Mahomes.

Baby face Mahomes doodies his pants mid game. Jags win BIG 42-10.

Jags fans are clueless.

They have confidence in Blake Bortles LMAO

Kiimo 10-04-2018 05:54 PM

If it's raining Bortles might throw it into the KC Masterpiece concession stand.

Lol exactly

Tyreek was very respectful.

Ramsey is a pillowbitergot. I hope Reek burns him and throws up the deuces ✌

What's funny is that this isn't an example of 'good' trash talking, and here's why:

The table has been set by each guy. Tyreek, if he fails, gets shut down by a guy he called 'The best'. If he torches him, he torches one of the best.

If Ramsey fails, it means he can't cover a return specialist. If he succeeds... big deal. He shut down a return specialist.

Both guys set up a narrative. Only one looks like complete ass if they fail.

Meh.

I'm not sure Fournette being out is a plus. His back ups tend to be more productive on a per play basis.

ThaVirus 10-04-2018 05:59 PM

For the record, Ramsey clearly has a ton of respect for Hill and what he brings to the field. What we’re seeing is just media sound bytes taken a bit out of context.. You know how they do..

Ramsey said this Chiefs offense will be the best he’s ever faced.

Yeah, those are some ridiculous takes. LMAO

They might win, but they ain’t blowing the Chiefs out in Arrowhead. That’s just nonsense.

Kiimo 10-04-2018 05:59 PM

I disagree. I'd way rather have the backups like TJ Yeldon running horizontally than having this defense try to tackle Fournette. He'd run right over them.

If not for Patrick skill set getting out of trouble he would have been fisted in the pocket against Denver D.

You think Dungvers D was motivated?? We had beaten them 5 straight before that game started. It was a division game with essentially first place on the line. I guarantee their D was playing the best ball they had in a long time. They wanted desperately to win at their house, stop the streak, and beat Mahomes. Unfortunately for them, their qb is Fleece em and ours is a god! Jags gonna find out that’s the case also this week. Bortles is a copy Fleece em. St Patrick will overcome this Jag-wires team and lead our team to a victory!!

ThaVirus 10-04-2018 06:00 PM

Let's talk about the Jaguars

LOL

I didn’t mean to jump down your throat or anything. I only chimed in because I live in Orlando so I’m forced to watch Jax every damned Sunday.

Campbell is 6’8” 300 lol he’s a ****ing monster. 14.5 sacks from a DT is incredible.

They clearly haven't been watching Mahomes.

I mean...I haven't watched Jacksonville so I can't say much. But 50/50 balls and pick sixes?

SHARP learning curve ahead.

Exactly. They're still parroting the offseason narrative.

New World Order 10-04-2018 06:06 PM

Why does everyone talk about picks with Mahomes?

I can't recall a single time this year where it's hit a corner or linebacker directly in the hands.

A few of them have been tipped for possible picks, but that's the norm.

The INT talk is just stupid.

Funny thing here... Artie burns ran a 4.46 and a 6.96 3-cone. Jalen Ramsey ran a 4.41 and a 6.94 3-cone. Comparatively, Reek ran a 4.19 with a 6.53 cone. Ramsey gonna get punked with that short-area quickness just like Burns did and isn't going to have the speed to keep up deep. That's 1.5 yards of separation on a 30-yard route just on speed.

14.5 sacks from DT is impressive, but Campbell plays defensive end doesn't he?

Jackson and Dareus play inside don't they?
