How dare you besmirch Billy Chapel!!
Vin Scully broadcasting a make-believe no-hitter. Cal Noughton Jr. saying "Chappy - we don't stink right now!" As far as romantic comedies disguised as a sports film go, it's solid. Costner in a sports movie always brings it up by 3 points over what it has right to be. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/QYTadlooH7o" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
I think Kevin Costner kicked GB's cat. I watched that movie and didn't find it horibad but once is enough.

Its really starting to feel like end of the line GoT or Walking Dead... they're out of fresh ideas and just kinda punting right now

We see it in plenty of shows, the writers dawdle along... then suddenly try to wrap it all up with some haphazard, overwrought two hour finale |
Quote:
In fairness to the showrunner Taylor Sheridan, he is currently juggling 3 different shows at the moment (Yellowstone, 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown plus his film screenplays ) I'm probably in the minority here but I'm loving this season so far. Rip remains my favorite character and I'm glad Kaycee is getting more screen time. But I do completely understand a lot of the criticisms of this season so far. |
Quote:
They figured they were done in season 7 then they got a syndication deal that required X number of shows so they had to get 2 more seasons in. So they just limped along for 2 more years even though they'd been planning on wrapping things up 2 years earlier. Everything in the storyline was aimed at a particular endpoint and then it just got pushed out like 30 more episodes. So they just meandered for 2 years and every episode just felt like it was stalling for time so they could do in 30 episodes what they'd planned to do in the last 3 of season 7. And then right as they were trying to bring it in for a landing someone yanked the stick to the right and killed everyone on board. I've never seen a show torch goodwill like HIMYM did. If anyone here watched it they'll know exactly what I'm talking about. I can't even watch re-runs anymore, the dicked up the last 1/3 of it (and the ending) that badly. Yes, worse than GOT. |
They need to axe Kayce's wife. Unless she is showing that sweet ass naked, she is annoying as ****. Get rid of her, make the Indians pissed off the Duttons again and have Kayce become a man whore. Win for show.

I don’t see an endpoint conclusion they’re stretching out. But I definitely see the meandering. |

**** it. I love some of the moments from this show.
I absolutely love the biker scene. I'm inevitably giddy when Rip smokes all those ****ing motorcycles. ROFL And credit where credits due. Other than Rip and Lloyd not taking a hit, Teeter equates herself as well as anybody. Such a great scene. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/h8-SnYHO27g" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Are we being trolled at this point?
I mean 15 minutes of that episode were pointless musical interludes of some sort. And there was some horse jacking. Oh, and evidently Jimmy can't fall off a horse without landing on a solid 7 that's looking to try to **** him, for reasons that defy all logic or comprehension. And why are we letting Laramie stay in the bunkhouse? It appears she's a fairly obvious source of tension and near as I can tell she doesn't actually do anything. Teeter is a badass so obviously letting her stay (especially wearing the brand) was a no-brainer. But what the hell's the point in letting this buckle-bunny who's banging a guy you wanted to kill anyway stick around? Like I siad - I feel like we're just getting trolled at this point. |

This show frankly sucks. This season anyway. |
I'm pretty sure the majority of this season was just to pimp the new 1883 series.
|
Teeter cleans up nice.
|
I imagine the final 3 episodes will pick up a bit thankfully

That scene near the end, herding mustangs back to first persons' land, gave Bojack another mid-life crisis

That could provide a few episodes worth of tension as they realize that they could both eviscerate each other. Because in the end, anything Jamie tries to barbecue John for, he'd be an accessory to. And we know Jamie has a kill on his own that John's aware of. Oh, and in the end, Rip would kill the shit out of Jamie if he was asked. So yeah, Jamie will rattle a saber and then come to this realization. |
Why was Jamie even invited to the Governor's announcement of support for John's candidacy? Just to rub his face in it?
He is such a weird character in this |
Quote:
I'm gonna go ahead and chalk it up to bad writing again. It was contrived and didn't really make any sense. |
If Jamie sees Rip approaching him with an Igloo Cooler, he better beat cheeks...

I do think this may be John, in his own gruff-ass Dutton way, trying to protect Jamie from himself. I mean how much public scrutiny does John really want Jamie facing. And yeah, now he'll face it, but with a lot more savvy (and a fair amount more "IDGAF") than Jamie would have. I almost wonder if he doesn't feel like he's stepping in front of a bullet for Jamie, just as much as for Montana writ large. |
Quote:
Unless the story is going to get more unbelievable and John has some how learned who was really behind the hit and punishing Jamie for covering it up. God, I hope that’s not the case, that would be even worse writing than we’ve seen so far this year. |
Quote:
The other one felt more natural. But yeah. There was horse jacking. |
I went back and watched the last show from the last three years because lots of stuff happens in the last show of each season. I don't know how many total people have been killed since the first episode, but I think it's in the neighborhood of 25 or 30. I think they've sent three or four guys to the "train station." The chick who had Jamie's baby is red hot. She straddles him in his campaign office in the first season and screws him on a desk. The chick who's currently hot for Kayce was a stripper that Rip hired to be a groomer and was the first chick in the bunkhouse. John has beat cancer and multiple gunshot wounds. Beth survived a brutal rape and being blown up in her office. Kayce's wife got a brain injury as a teacher and was being strangled by a serial rapist on the reservation when Mo took the guy out with a sniper shot to the head. Jamie killed a reporter after spilling the shit on his dad. There's a lot of complicated stuff going on here...

That's a 5 minutes music video for a mainstream country artist where absolutely nothing happens because said artist is on a spinoff. And as noted - it's a shitty song. The whole thing had a real "Benedict Cumberbatch is James Bond now" feel to it when you realized that 'uh oh, Sherlock might just suck now...' |

I’ll give them some rope though. I still sees avenues to save it. |
Who's more pussywhipped? Jamie or Kacey?

1883 is pretty good if you like Westerns.

Besides, I can't stand Tim McGraw OR Faith Hill to a degree that is uncalculatable. |

Tim McGraw is pretty damn good in the new show. Faith Hill is pretty blah. They try to put the Hollywood woke shit in a western from 1883 though lol. |
This season has had it's moments, but for the most part, it blows.

I mean some of it is accurate, but yeah, it's not like there are wild groups of vigilantes running into town and killing people off, with no apparent consequences. At least a lot of it is accurate, the ranchers around here are very protective of their land and most people around here don't care much for Californians moving in. The one that really cracks me up is "Big Sky." It's like Montana's version of Fargo. |
If you only knew Ruby’s cafe, the demographic and its location in Missoula you’d laugh even harder at that scene.
I mean, that entire scene looks like it was scripted and acted out in an hour. |

This season is a big disappointment. Is there going to be a season 4?
I can't believe they are going to cram this all in with a couple episodes left. |
It's pretty obvious they had material for 2 seasons and don't know what to do now. Half the show is guitar playing, watching cattle being herded, following Jimmy in Texas and Monica giving her 15 year old son a bath.

The most detracting/distracting part of the first two eps was the tagalong sister Claire, mostly because I spent the first half trying to figure where I'd seen her before, and the second half trying to assess how good/bad a job she was doing based on how hard it was to figure that out.
Spoiler!
The daughter Isabel May is certainly a breakout, presence on par with Kaitlyn Dever or Jennifer Lawrence in THEIR early TV roles. She was the star of that premiere feature of whatever Ben Shapiro's attempt at a movie studio was. <iframe width="820" height="461" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UDd3vs1bDGs" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> The story is decent enough thus far. But I'm expecting better narratives once introductions are out of the way and better visuals once they're out of West Texas. |

Hmm. I thought Sam Elliot's acting was inferior to everyone else. I quite liked the first episode. That blonde chick is going to be a handful.

The Sheriff of Fort Worth takes no backseat to Rip of Yellowstone in the mean mother ****er department. "I'm the only killer in this town."
Who was the actor looking familiar but can't place him? I quite liked the episodes so far and I hate Tugs POS son. |

Can we PLEASE kill him off already? He was entertaining enough in season 1 and 2 but he has far outlived his usefulness. Have him driving a truck with Monica and Tait when someone from market equities rams it off a cliff or something. There's too much plot armor and too much dead weight in this show. Let's just knock all this mess out in one shot. |
Haven't watched this episode yet, but I'm ALWAYS down to see Billy Bob play a wild west sheriff... be catching this tomorrow

I'm more interested in 1883 than Yellowstone at this point. I hate to say it, but the show just sucks right now. If this shit was season one, nobody would be watching it. Disappointing to say the least, IMO.
I'll have to find some time to check out 1883. |
