And we thank him. |
So the bidding went up from a second to multiple picks and a player.
Gotta be a first involved. Maybe a second or third this year and a conditional pick next year that can go to a 1. And I’m gonna shit if it’s Josh Norman... |
If we get Josh Norman and a 2nd rounder I will openly weep.

Washington is perfect for Alex...no WR's with any sort of downfield threat, so it's gonna be checkdown city.
|
Happy as ****. Good luck to Alex but happy the mahomes era is officially about to start.

The #Chiefs traded QB Alex Smith to the #Redskins for a 2018 third-round pick and a player to be named tomorrow, sources say. Solid return, regardless of who the player is.

I don't really think Norman is the guy to grab... unsure of his scheme fit
|
Better be a good player
Defense? Josh doctson? |
Wait. I thought it was multiple picks?

Norman would be a massive upgrade to the secondary and defense as a whole.

LOL... bye, Alexsexuals!

If it was just a 3rd I hope the player is Norman. We clear up plenty of more space by cutting some of the dead weight on defense.

A third? Disappointed

3rd round? Better be a helluva player. |
If it's a third, would imagine it's a pretty good player coming back with that...

The deal cannot be completed until the new league year begins March 14. It is expected to be for a second-round pick and possibly more, according to a source. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...ngton-redskins |
Second happiest day in my life as a Chiefs fan right after the day we drafted Mahomes. Arguably a tie.
They are 100% in. |
Give me a 3rd and Breeland.
|
Sutton is the bad fit. Norman would be great.
|
Kerrigan is who I'm guessing. Tamba is gone, and Dee Ford should be gone. We need to fill that spot, and Houston can play on either side.
|
So I guess the megadeal was a nod to the extension
**** YOU, IAN |

if it isnt , they wouldve continued negotiations with CLE |
Gotta be Kerrigan or Norman.
|
The Chiefs were wanting a 2nd and got a 3rd with a player. I'm honestly not expecting it to be anything more than a "good" player.
I was predicting they get a 3rd for Alex, but I really dont care who they get... he's ****ing gone! |

This draft is deeper than it is talented so that might be why they wanted a player on their roster and just took the 3rd.

If they dropped to a 3rd rounder, it would probably mean it's a pretty good player coming back.

Settling for a 3rd would’ve disappointing. |
Skins gave him 70 mil guaranteed? Jesus.

The Redskins aren't trading Ryan Kerrigan, not for Alex Smith. Norman could happen.
|
A 3rd round pick? Bet cleveland was offering more. We may have got fleeced to accommodate smith. Screwed us 1 more time out the door.
|
Not sexy, but I'd take Brandon Sherff in return.
|
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns also attempted to trade for Alex Smith before he was dealt to the Redskins.
The offers were likely similar from both the Redskins and Browns, and ultimately it was likely Smith's decision. Smith admitted earlier on Tuesday in an interview with The Dan Patrick Show that he'd like to join a contender while scoffing at the notion of joining the Browns. Upon agreement of the trade, the Redskins also gave Smith a four-year extension, something Smith likely won't have signed in Cleveland coming off a 1-31 record the last two years. New Browns GM John Dorsey will have to turn his attention elsewhere. He may dip into the Kirk Cousins market, but it's also hard to see Cousins going there after talking about his desire to win earlier in the day. |

I'm guessing they did ALex a favor and didn't trade him to Cleveland.

I'm curious if the player the Chiefs receive is to offset salaries, meaning he's of starting caliber, which might explain why the Chiefs may have gotten a lower pick.
