If this kid shines in preseason and KC trots Smith out there, this forum is going to be losing their minds.

What an incredible upgrade over the clogged septic system we received on our LAST go around at QB acquisition.

I also enjoyed the Eric Berry Tennessee fans. Both groups of fans are great because they immediately sensed what we're excited about and what we stand for as a fanbase. The Tech fans immediately figured shit out: "Hmm... they seem to hate Alex Smith and his sacrifice-the-game-for-his-low-INT-totals style of play." And they've been feeding us awesome shit to fap to.

Unless it is a third and 1-2 situation I think Andy should send a receiver deep on ever play. Keep the saftey back to open up the run.

This guy will break defenses will. A guy who can throw 50+ yards across his body while running left? Good night...

Thanks, I knew it was something like that.

I recognize you guys don't like Alex's style of play, but you could be in a lot worse shape at QB. Look at the Texans, Browns, etc. Alex is pretty solid and he is going to be an important mentor for Mahomes along with the coaches.

Alex is largely a victim of circumstance. I think everyone can acknowledge he is a solid, good QB. But, he was sent to a franchise that has long suffered to mediocrity at the QB position.

He has done everything we could hope for him to do, but it just feels like the ceiling has been reached. He wouldn't receive near as much hate here if it wasn't for the people like Tiger who live in fantasy land and think he is some sort of top 10 QB, wanting him to extend his stay when this team is ready to win a damn Super Bowl...

I feel like a few of the stacked Chiefs and 49ers teams Alex has started for have been victims of circumstance. With an actual QB, I don't feel like this Chiefs team will merely win games (a few of them straight up lucky, "how the hell did that just happen" wins)....I feel like this team will blow their opponents out.

Undoubtedly.

I think back to the game at Denver last year. Incredible game, great win, but had no business being that close. Our offense was literally nonexistent before the 4th quarter.

Now, you could say the same thing about Denver in that game, but their offense was quite a bit worse than ours all around.

Everything about your post is fair and sensible...

but then, you get to the part that I separate above.

AGAIN.. you are adding negative opinion of the QB due to... " some fans that oversell him. ?

That therefore renders everything you feel about his ability.. and frankly, any opinion given.. as questionable.

Tell me... you do see this, yes?

Actually, I don't want Alex even talking to PM2. Why risk some of Alex's game managing, horizontal throwing, open receiver missing bad juju rubbing off on our new Franchise QB.

PM2 is the exact opposite of ALex, and I want him to stay that way.

Hopefully, we only have to suffer through one more year of his 15 TD throwing, first round playoff exit ass before we get a real QB to watch in Red!!

It's simple. If a person (say Tiger) comes on here and says that's Alex has to start for 2-3 years, that he isn't the primary reason for our shortcomings in recent years, that he is a top 10 NFL QB... it sparks the debate.

So, when those things are said, many on here including myself are going to fire back with reasons as to why those things aren't true. It often comes off as 'hating' Alex. That's not it. It's just a response to the ideas that Pro-Alex posters bring to the board.

How about you pay a shitload of money for tickets to watch the Chiefs choke in a Home Playoff game- as Alex looks off a wide open Hill all day long. Then you can judge others that are ****ing sick of Alex and his ballwashing fan club.

Kaepernick would have this Chiefs team in the playoffs. Smith has only been successful with great teams and great coaching, just like Kaepernick.

People can say whatever they want about Kaepernick...I don't like him myself (I think he's a douche), but the guy did lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl in his 2nd season in the league...and followed that by leading them to the NFC Championship game the following year... and he's only been in the league for 6 seasons. Not to mention, the guy threw 16 TD's to 4 INT's in 2016 which is (gasp!!!) better than Alex in 2016. And he did that playing in 2 less games than Alex played in 2016.

Let's not forget, in Alex's first 6 seasons, he threw 68 TD's to 58 INT's. Kaepernick has thrown 72 TD's to 30 INT's.

Let's not pretend that the Chiefs potentially performing better with Kaepernick than Alex is some sort of huge stretch. It certainly isn't jumping the shark.

Could you possibly contradict yourself any more? If we are considering scheme and strength of team, Alex had a NY strip steak and Kaepernick had a bowl of dog food.

God bless John Dorsey for taking out the trash. It will be hard to get ANY compensation for a useless walking dildo like Smith, but John's proven himself very capable at his job and will probably produce some amazing result.

Even if he can only get a can of corn or a free car wash, he's still coming out on top for a player with such low value and no discernible talent.

I'd say much worse than Tiger. Tiger (from what I've noticed) hasn't put himself on some imaginary pedestal based on where they reside and proceeded to stereotype, insult and degrade an entire city/region. I'm an Iowan (and am not ashamed of that) and feel personally offended, for I perceived what he wrote as degrading the entire Midwest...which similar to the Chiefs and their history, the Midwest/KC is something Sandy McNipples knows absolutely nothing about....dude doesn't have a frame of reference for any of the shit he spews.

Truth is a hard and bitter pill to swallow at times. It's not your fault you got suckered in to cheering for a loser like Smith.

The good news is, you don't have to live like that anymore. John Dorsey has corrected his error and paid for our sins, securing a TRUE franchise QB that will open your eyes like a child at Christmas coming down the stairs.

When people finally see what Mahomes can do, in living color in his red jersey, they will briefly recall Smith and feel deep and great shame. So stark will the contrast be, many fans will question their ability to reason and think.
Highly understandable, but the learning process can be a harsh mistress at times.

... but no.. that's not good enough for the perpetually butt-hurt. Oh no,, has to be all about one player.. cuz that's how you drew it up in your sad fantasy world. got to have enemies.. even if there are none? create them from prior butt-hurt

You're a joke, kid.,, and I piss on you from a great height.

You kidding?! I knew you didn't ignore me. Why else would you have made little references to my responses to you in your own replies to other poster's posts? Because you read what I wrote.

Pro Sandy? Meh, I thought I crossed a line in teasing you when I went out of my way to give you shit about mocking Trubisky to the Chiefs. I thought some of your takes were so ridiculous that they were funny, therefore I didn't hate you or anything (and still don't). Right now though...you are acting douchier than about anyone I've ever seen act on here. You need to re-apply your Vagicil.

I'm pretty sure that's not a good idea... I wouldn't want to accidentally jab myself with the syringe I carry in front pocket of my flannel shirt when we rub up against each other...or worse yet, lose another tooth. I would also prefer to not get my 3rd eye on my stomach (from a birth defect) to get jabbed by your boner when we are hugging.

Matt Cassel agrees that we signed his clone.

That's about all Matt Cassel has to do with the equation.

Ah....White Whale. We meet again at at last.

Is it not joyous that the Chiefs have finally come to realize what I have known and proposed for many a year now?
I don't expect much repentance from the fan base at-large, but the organization's will do just fine for now.

What the **** are you talking about?

Oh, that thing where you copy, to the letter, all of Clay's opinions and then act like you're the only guy saying it?

Keep up the martyr act.

No Bevis. I'm referring to your membership at a different message board, and the many discussions we have had about the issue of 1st round QB's.

Have you eaten enough shit and learned your lesson yet?

God I hope so.

ROFL

Why are you even here among all us drug addicts and hillbillies then- just to verbally suck off Alex in every ****ing thread. You obviously know Nothing about the Midwest or Chiefs fans - which is still more than you know about football.

Hopefully, you will find the door when Alex is gone. Good riddance to both of you.

Yeah... KC has been beyond reproach, aside from the QB... wow... perfect. Just a perfect, wonderfully flawless team, except QB.

pugs... you have truly gone potato.

I would say that I hope Mahomes wrecks the team like Kaepernick did his.. but I can't... because unlike popular belief.. I want the Chiefs to excel.. despite their potato fans that deserve far less.

Under Todd Haley and Romeo Crennel, this team underachieved.

The change at the top, from Dorsey to Reid and his staff is the reason this teamed righted itself, and to his credit, Alex Smith didn't screw that up.

But, let's be clear here.
Alex Smith isn't the reason this team started to play at the level they are capable of.

What is the point of the Romper again? Capn Butt Cheeks has lost it as has Freighters. We broke them both.

Sandy Balls comes into this great PM2 thread and turns it into a one man Alex fan club letter, takes a dump on the "inbred, drug addled, toothless, birth defected" Chiefs fans and then surfs off into the sunset.

Not really fair, if to read through the evolution of posts.

I took exception to pugs' flip-flopping of now blaming Smith as the primary problem for all of the team shortcomings. We should all have a right to agree or disagree with opinions. It simply escalated into other idiots throwing fuel on the fire.

It was a brief fire that quickly turned cold and dead... and now, you are trying to breathe life back into it? meh.. pass. It's a beautiful day. Enjoy it, and FFS, contact O City about getting that grill of yours fixed.

Alex Smith isn't the reason this team started to play at the level they are capable of.

As a native Texan, I grew up cheering for the Cowboys. My dad and granddad also liked the Packers as they were both big fans of Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry. I became a Chiefs fan after the first Super Bowl even though I was in single-digits in age. :) My granddad thought Hank Stram was a blend of Lombardi and Landry, plus he liked Lamar Hunt's dedication to forming the AFL.

Cowboys fans. . . we had Danny White after Roger Staubach retired. White was good, but not capable of taking us to the Promised Land, even though we had some outstanding offensive and defensive talent. Then comes Troy Aikman and a few more weapons and we take three out of four Super Bowls--and rather handily, I might add.

Then after several seasons of struggle and disappointment, Tony Romo enters the picture. Again, a Danny White type of guy--solid citizen, athletic, smart. . . but doesn't have that unidentifiable intangible to take us to the Promised Land. Last season, Dak Prescott burst onto the scene and a big thing he brought with him was confidence.

Now, Kansas City. We suffered through Bono and Grbac and a few others. Alex Smith helped solidify a talented and potent offense enough to get us in the playoffs, at home, where once again we lost in a heartbreaking fashion.

I see Patrick Mahomes in the same light in terms of bringing that unidentifiable intangible with him that Aikman brought to the Cowboys. By now, everyone has seen the undeniable other-worldly talent that Mahomes possesses, and his work ethic and intelligence has been verified at all levels from the coaches down to internet forum participants.

Mahomes has that special, magical ability that pushes players to play above their normal levels and capabilities. Aaron Rodgers has that, so did Favre. Tom Brady has it and I think Dak Prescott has it.

That is the difference and that is why I think we'll see a noticeable change in attitude and enthusiasm every time Mahomes steps on the field for many years to come.

Alex Smith helped get the bus to the playoffs level. Mahomes has the ability and sheer will and determination to take it all the way to the loading dock where the Lombardi trophy will be loaded onto it.

Smith IS the primary reason for the team's shortcomings- he is the QB. The Most important position on the field. Alex gets credit for the wins and also takes the loss. That is the way it is and has Nothing to do with Pugs.

Oh, thanks for the tip- you know cause..I am a Chiefs fan that lives in the Midwest..and we are all toothless meth heads according to you.

Nice job not taking any responsibility for your ignorant post and then doubling down on it. Pathetic. As a true "drug addled" CHIEFS fan- I will be glad when Alex is gone and all of his fairweather, uninformed fans like you move on as well.

I'm really not, good sir. It's all in fun. At moments, can be frustrating, but mostly just good natured **** you's here and there.

I recognize that every forum needs contention and drama to spice things up... so I understand the need to have enemies.. even create them if they are not truly there. To add, it must be fun to imagine scenarios where these enemies are miserable, crying in the corner, and devastated that their boo is to be someday replaced.

Truth is, it's not a big deal. Smith had/has his 5 years, and his last chance to step up his game. He probably won't, and that's unfortunate, but at least he helped to win games and help KC become relevant again. I just hope Mahomes becomes worthy of the premature adulation, and really can get em over the hump. I really do. :thumb:
