He started out at Southern Miss as a WR prospect. He majors in Finance and was 3x Academic Honor Roll at SM. He transferred to NC and ended up kind of being a backup QB and WR. It wasn't until this year that he was anything at any time, and it took an injury to their starter to get him on the field, and he ends up looking like a superstar QB. He looks like this the past few seasons and we're probably talking about him every day. Kid can throw the ball and he goes through reads really well. He's a guy I'd want to see more of if I'm a scout. |

Mike Lombardi is pretty high on Deshaun Watson. He starts talking about him at about the 8 minute mark.

It would be funny if we finally draft a QB in the first round and it's Mitch Turdinsky the Alex clone.

It is just so unreal that even with bad mechanics Pat Mahommes is making damn good throws that are mostly on point, and he's doing it against some good teams.
Get him some work with Andy and he'll be a goddamned stud. |
In Bucky Brooks's new mock, he has the Chiefs selecting Deshaun Watson...

I'm just reading what's out there and post the QB stuff I come across because I know you guys are following the QB's. I honestly don't care who KC drafts and genuinely believe Paxton Lynch would've been the best QB in this draft class had he stayed in college. |

Last years QB class was not that much better than this years. |

Trubisky
Watson Mahommes Lynch He'd be the 4th QB in this class. |
Quote:
Matt Miller gave Lynch a higher grade than everyone except Trubisky and Watson. Had Lynch stayed in school he probably would've been the first or second overall pick this year. |
It wouldn't have mattered knowmo. Lynch is just like the QB's this year. Spread QB with a big arm and big body.
He would have been labeled the same developmental prospect as everyone else. No snaps under center, no 5 step drops, no verbiage, no reading a defense, no calling protections. That wouldn't have changed with another year at memphis. |

Lynch and Mahomes would be neck and neck in this draft, IMO.

I don't think Watson, Kayaa or Peterman have strong enough arms to make it in the NFL. Trubisky seems to have marginal arm strength or poor mechanics on deep balls. He had a lot of throws that could have gone big except his WR had to wait on the ball.

If they want a QB.....they're going to have to trade up.
|
Quote:
The Bears and Jets are the only teams I can see in the top 10 who would draft a QB, and if the Bears do draft a QB it probably won't be until the 2nd or 3rd round because of the Glennon signing. I suppose Cleveland trading up from 12 could be a potential threat... |
