Seriously? |
He will need to learn some more pass rush moves, but this guy is a pure ROLB that should allow Houston to stay at LOLB.
He should really bolster our pass rush. |

@adamteicher: Dorsey: "We clearly thought (Ford) was the second-best pass rusher in this draft.''
|
Desmond Moses looked awful. Zombo can hold up as a drop/rush guy but doesn't put fear into anyone without houston or hali on the other side. Next up for depth at OLB is two UDFA's from last year are Josh Martin and Ridge Wilson. OLB was a huge need.
I was hoping like hell someone from Carolina all the way to the end of the first would move up and take Dennard, Lee or Benjamin, whoever, to get another pic. Kony Ealy as has been mentioned would have been another solid pick. He's big enough where he isn't going to stand up and play OLB like Aldan Smith and there's 4-3 teams rumored about talking him adding weight to play DT. Could have spelled as an End in subs, rushed inside in subs in year one and be ready to start at DE in year 2 either at the 5 or 3tech. Wouldn't have been too pissed to see Ward taken here either. I hope they can pick up a 3 or 4th rder for Flowers as I think it's his last year in KC the way things sound. Detroit would be a player I would think. Gunther lost his DC gig but was kept on as an adviser to the coaching staff and personnel dept if you can believe that lmao. He was here when he was drafted in 08. Tamba being that big is interesting news. My only concern with him playing that heavy is 2 things. He's busted ass with the MMA workouts with the Gracies the past few offseason so I can't see that he would all of the sudden get lazy and show up out of shape. If it's to play him at End in the base that's really intriguing and I like the idea even though you worry about stopping the run. Tjack leaving leaves a big hole at LE just with the size factor alone. They really don't have anyone that size except Catapano and he isn't making a big jump to starting. I like the walker signing. 35" arms but I don't think people realize he's really damn short. I see Devito over there and Walker at RE unless they try Hali at LE. It's possible too they play Hali heavier at OLB and he's just added bulk to play 3tech in subs. |

Ford isn't going to help Fisher's confidence in practice.
This might backfire. |

Dee Ford tells us he never had contact with the Chiefs throughout draft process. Said he's a big fan on Tamba Hali and Eric Berry.

Hali played DT in subs in college. He's very versatile. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see them move him forward and slide Ford into his spot.

Dorsey said Dee Ford will be a "fine addition to the locker room culture."

Its not a bad thing, its just guys with good measureables that get hurt and leave you holding your dick with no depth |
OLB Dee Ford stresses he played in the SEC, can stop the run. Adds he's adding to "every aspect of my game."

Is there any possibility of trading Hali this year?
Maybe we can get rid of the "No Holding Calls Ever" curse by getting rid of him. |

@cover32_KC: Dee Ford measurables: 35 1/2" vert, 10'4" broad, 29 reps, 4.54 40. Justin Houston measurables: 36 1/2" vert, 10'5" broad, 30 reps, 4.68 40.

If we drafted 6 All-Pro's, people would still melt down. I like this pick, which is a little scary. |

It's a bad pick if they could've gotten him later.

Tamba showed up to workouts weighing 284, which everyone is chirping at him being over weight fatty.
Do the realize he was listed to be playing at 275 last year? |

I love this pick if its to replace Hali
I hate this pick if its because they cant afford to extend Justin Houston that simple |
Just for those keeping up....
Vance Walker was one of the best pass rushing DT's last year and will line up in same spot most of the time. Mike DeVito is working on getting his pass rush technique down and losing weight to gain speed. Mike Catapano showed nice flashes last year and they think he can be a nice rotational guy. Dee Ford is a very quick and proven pass rusher. Our pass rush was good last year until injuries happened. I'm VERY excited about the pass rush this year. This is going to be tremendous for our secondary. Get a DB in round 3 or 4 and this defense looks much improved. |
As @AJCFalcons reported, the Falcons were trying to trade back into first round for Dee Ford or Ryan Shazier.

There's still metric shit ass ton of talent on TE board. We gotta get back in the 2nd round. Just don't trade berry

I worry about size at LE but the one thing that helps so much in the run game is just how damn good Houston is at setting the edge in the run game. I thought maybe when they move on from Hali they would swap Houston over to the rush LB spot but he plays the sam so well I don't think they should and Ford fit's that rush spot very well. |

So clueless. Unless you are talking about a high first you aren't getting a 2nd. You must be related to Dorsey and his whole "I'm not trading Albert for a 3rd, but I'll willingly accept a ****ing comp pick" stance. |
I can't take him seriously with that voice. I really can't.
|
Since we run sub sets......maybe they're planning on using a 4 man front of Hali, Walker, Poe and Catapano.....and then having Houston and Ford roam around

I'm trying to find out what you saw that made you think Houston has one of the quickest first steps in football.. That's just.. Too much. And I love Houston. |
