It’s a FAVORITES list, not who you think is the best.
It’s a good thread, Kurt. |
I liked Kimble Anders, too. He never quite got over, though.

It's not like anyone can tell YOU who YOUR favorite Chiefs are... :doh!: |
Fun DJ story, he was with a group I was a part of helping build a playground at a park in independence and I had my son with me. The kid was under a year old and had colic, and was struggling with it pretty bad that day. Wouldn't stay in his bouncer and wouldn't stop screaming. I was about to leave early, and DJ picked him up and the kid calmed down. That would become a re-occuring theme that day. Every time my son would start to throw a fit, DJ would fly him around on his arm, call him "Super Baby" and the kiddo would be instantly better.

Personal favorites here, not necessarily most accomplished.
1. Patrick Mahomes. We just hoped the kid would be good, and win us a superbowl someday. The kid has us in the running every single year. Hypothetically, if there is a GOD, and if he were to lower himself to affecting sports, he finally answered all the prayers of Chiefs fans with #15. 2. Derrick Thomas. The ultimate pass rusher. Guy could change a game in the blink of an eye. The bane of every quarterbacks existence. 3. Mark Collins. Played corner, then moved to safety, but was ALWAYS around the ball making plays and causing turnovers or recovering fumbles. His INT TD with 12 seconds left in the half against the Raiders, in the black hole, in a win and you're in the postseason game is burned into my memory, as is the dumbfounded look on the face of Art Shell when it happened. Should've taken your 3, Art. 4. Tony Gonzalez. Yeah, I get it. He's an asshole who jumped ship at the end of his career. But lets face it. Carl Peterson was never going to get this team in shape to win anything at the point Tony left. The guy was the heart and soul of the passing game, while being assaulted every play. 5. Priest Holmes. I loved this guy. DV built an offense with Priest as it's engine and if you could simply hold the guy to 100 yards on the day, you would take it as a victory on defense. Briefly held the single season td record, and was just a powerhouse of offensive production. 6. Travis Kelce. Watching him evolve from a hot-headed player prone to getting himself flagged, and possibly ejected, to one of the most unstoppable forces at TE the league has ever seen has been amazing. An unselfish player, both with the football, and in contracts, the guy is just a stud cornerstone of the franchise. If you don't have an 87 jersey, what are you waiting for? 7. Dante Hall. The guy was electric. A threat to score any time he got the ball kicked to him. Flashed some Barry Sanders type jukes in his limited role in the offense. Lot if his best highlights are him destroying donks. Gotta love the guy. 8. Tyreek Hill. Ridiculous speed and ability. Changed the way a entire league approached playing KC. Wasp will live forever in the hearts and minds of the Chiefs faithful. 9. Marcus Allen. Guy could get 1 yard if you put a brick wall at the LOS. Amazing short yardage running back. 10. Joe Montana. I really got into Chiefs football the year the Chiefs went to the AFCCG in Buffalo. My uncle explained who Joe was, what he had done, and this season would be the ONLY season I saw the Chiefs win a playoff game for the next what, 22 years? Hmm. Maybe I should dislike Joe a little bit. Nah. Suffering through those soul tearing years only made the arrival of Mahomes and his Championship that much sweeter. |
I'm only doing five.

I was on the field in high school and got to see DT and the 1990 defense during warmups. Unbelievably giant human beings. |
