Yea that 7th round was really costly! Not like they had 4 of them!

It kinda was. It was a great draft but sitting and watching our (CP) players fly off the boards because we didn't have a pick for almost two rounds was irritating

I don't remember the compensation for that pick but one more DL or EDGE and I wouldn't have a bad thing to say about this draft

We gave up a 7th round pick to secure a guy that many thought would go on day 2.

This is a really stupid complaint.

Started off amazing. The draft tailed off for me when the moved up for Kinnard. Could have added more to the DL and still focused on the DBs. I thought the DL was going to be the focus of this draft but that's ok

Well they traded back in the second and picked up a 5th. So feel free to bump that grade up. :thumb:

He did great. We got really good talent that will pay off.

Mr. Kotter 04-30-2022 06:20 PM

In 2022 the Chiefs will field their best 53-man roster since I can remember. And I am old. Nice job, Andy and Brett.

Good God this deserves an A+ just for this!!

A-/B+.
Still not sure Johnson and Booth/Gordon, would have been better than McDuffie and Karlaftis.
Would have also preferred another DE at some point. Pass rush is still a weakness.

Good. Not sure what I’d grade it. B plus a minus maybe?

Based on the draft position is seems like they got good value. Still need a de but we’ll see what happens

smithandrew051 04-30-2022 06:29 PM

My only critique is that I wish we could’ve grabbed another WR or DL over Cook.

That said, if we did I would be concerned with safety depth right now. Definitely an opportunity cost to every pick. I’ll trust Veach’s judgement on how he viewed the value at that point.

Absolutely seems like a great draft. It’s really hard to hit so many positions of need without a bad reach anywhere.

Really seems like Veach has turned the corner on when to be aggressive and when to let the draft come to him.

I said it was a great draft. I think we could have paid more attention to the DL.....out of all the picks we made, what it took to get that guy I could live without if It meant another DL...simple.

A+.

Easily Brian Leach's best draft and probably the best draft of all the teams considering the value of the picks at where they were drafted.

Pablo 04-30-2022 06:32 PM

It's like a 93/94. Kind of draft we should all be fairly content with outside of the second round depending on who you are.

I couldn't tell if he was serious and doesn't know Veach's name, or if he was just giving Chiefsplanet a shout out.

Had to vote B but it is a B+. I love the focus on D. Its what was needed. I am just not sure about the WR group and was hoping for a little bit more. There is always FA's and UDFA's so who knows how this roster shakes out.

scho63 04-30-2022 06:54 PM

B+/A-

No crazy reaches or WTF pick. Could we gave jumped and grabbed better??? Never know but solid by all accounts.
