This combined with not being Kendrick Lewis means he's good in my book.

Agreed. If he can stay healthy I think he can compete for the FS job and play solidly in that position. Abdullah is another player that I would look at to man the fort. He's not spectacular but he is solid and will make a play if there is one to be made.

Didn't Abdullah have 2 INT's in the Colts game? I can't remember and won't go back and watch that crap fest.

Deal is Kelce has nowhere near "GronK" hands. (or even Duck Dynasty or Fasano hands for that matter) In preseason he put on a clinic on how NOT to catch the ball. He looked like he was fighting to catch every pass that came his way. Also showed that he was just as bad at blocking. Maybe he was thinking too much which often happens to rookies. If he happens to contribute, I'd consider it a bonus but no way going into next season I'd count on him for much.

mcaj22 01-08-2014 05:17 PM

yea but Kelce is big and fast, he's a mismatch nightmare, can't catch or block but he's got the speed thing that Duck Dynasty and Fasano lack big time. Alex loves himself a fast TE.

Dunerdr 01-08-2014 05:23 PM

I've got no defense for him on preseason but as kelces cp lawyer today I feel I made a case now it's his turn. I hope he and commings both turn out to be what they appear they coulda been. Anyone have scouting vids on them? I remember seeing a kelce one way back but not a commings vid. And didn't be play some corner as well as safety?

Direckshun 01-08-2014 06:17 PM

I want to know why anybody thinks Commings is a free safety.

Dude is stacked. He's built more like a piano lifter than he is a piano player.

Yup. I was referring to our 2014 starting LT.

We'll have to wait to see who we sign/draft...

Is this the second or third time on the same shoulder?

Yeah, I'm coming around to that guy... knew early on he can thump, but he has proven he can catch them when they come his way, two picks in the clutch is nothing to sneeze at.

Gonna be reeeal interesting to see how Dorsey/Reid play everything in the draft and free agency against whats already in house on both sides of the ball, he's already given us some real lookers for next to nothing... how that plays out against who they intend to keep will be very interesting.

I'm always excited for the draft and free agency, but I've never been so intrigued... its going to be an incredibly interesting offseason.

So I take it you don't think there's a chance in hell that Fisher is our starting LT next season.

I like to look at them like a couple more quality rookie prospects for our roster, unless they are practically destructed from this year, and are not capable of NFL play. You never know. We're going to miss the value of our second round pick, although I do not regret the trade for Alex.
