I'm just stating that's how you properly tackle. If he bends at the knees and wraps up instead of laying a shoulder into him he probably gains 3 more yards instead of 7.

He probably isn't going to blow the guy up, but he should come up and wrap up and make a tackle. He probably has the three guys fall back onto him for sure. You are right there.

McGraw just displayed crap technique. I understand the counter motion argument, but McGraw needed to plant and grab, hold on for dear life, not ry to smackdown.

I'm not a fan of McGraw at all. I think he's slow and unathletic.

Exactly, those 3 MIGHT have taken him to the ground just shy of or at least close to the first down marker. All McGraw does is help him to keep his balance long enough to gain a few extra yards...

I'm sure there are a dozen other examples of his failed technique but the dude has never been a standout player for us. He's not fast. He plays smart and he uses good technique which are the only reasons he's in the NFL. I haven't wanted him on the team for the last 5 years but I do recognize what he does well.

Most NFL defenders would do well to learn how to tackle properly. If you take someone low enough and hold on, it's very difficult to keep going regardless of any size or weight difference.

Look at our Defense in games with John Mcgraw vs. games without him this year and tell me if you still feel that way.
