I know of only 1 that wasn’t a posthumous award and that was the hillbilly that replaced the headlight fuse in his truck with a .22 shell, which worked. Until the shell got hot enough that it discharged and blew his balls off, literally.

The look on his face at the very end as he realizes his hair is on fire....

Plus I'm sure it makes you laugh because you know that is quite possibly something I might have done 10 years ago.
