Colorado (and Texas) both turned down invitations from the Pac 10 back in the 90's before the Big XII was formed. CU leaving for the Pac 10 has always been a "when" not an "if," and only 2 firm Pac 10 invitations went out in this whole process, CU and Texas. CU leaving had nothing to do with itchy feet or jumping the gun, this has apparently been in the works for awhile.

The ironic thing for Colorado is it is quite possible their sports teams will get worse. It is going to be hard to get a recruit from a coastal state to go play thousands of miles away and freeze their ass off. Also, midwestern recruits won't want to play there because they don't play any schools around them and won't be on tv.
