The theory is that the big 12 commissioner could never get a guarantee (other than logic from looking at the ACC getting a great deal) until this weekend. Apparently some network waited until the brink of losing it before finally swooping in with the promise.

You have a point about people on the West Coast. I wouldn't consider AZ schools to be in the same boat as the West Coast though. Arizona schools would make more money should they come to a Big 12 w/ the Texas schools.

How is KU a slave to Texas? Because everyone agreed it was OK to make 17mil as opposed to 9mil while Texas gets 25mil?
