TwoBillsDrive is actually pretty worried about Denver. If McDermott loses to a rookie QB in the Wild Card round after all this it would be hilarious.

Yes it would.

But that's not gonna happen.

If Buffalo lost this week they might actually have to fire McDermott. Do not want that.

They can die one of the two weeks to follow.

I don't know...that might be a pretty good outcome for non-Bills fans. Don't forget that McD took the Bills to the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor and a mediocre roster. Plus, they might lose Brady in the process.

Except your team sucks, so it's not happening. You won't get to watch your team get beaten by the Chiefs for the 4th time in a row, no matter how much you're looking forward to it.

Buffalo is a losing franchise. They should have gotten rid of McDermont and found a talented offensive coach but they did what loser's do. Now they're going to face another tier-one offensive minded head coach with their soft defense and their mediocre skill players. They're shitting bricks having to play Bo Nix.

Can’t shake the feeling that they blow it. Based on their history with McDermott they don’t beat very many good teams.

They’ve beaten:

End of career Phillip Rivers
Lamar Jackson-playoff choker
Mac Jones
Mason Rudolph
Skylar Thompson

They haven’t beaten a single good ****ing great team/QB. 0-4 vs Mahomes/Burrow and half of those games were at homes.

Not saying Nix or the Broncos are great but goddamn Buffalo. Their track record isn’t good.

Not a great feeling with them. Here’s to hoping they skull **** Denver into oblivion

Um what? We should all be hoping the Broncos win.

I think the best of the likely scenarios for the Chiefs is to play Baltimore in the AFCCG with Baltimore having the toughest road possible.

Baltimore got dinged up a bit last week. They had to play their starters in Week 18. Now, they have to play 2 more games to get to KC. I think we want them knocking off Buffalo in a slugfest.

Make them travel back to back weeks and come to KC worn down. Henry didn’t look like the same guy by the time we saw him in the 2020 AFCCG. Same could happen here.

And if Baltimore makes is through that ^^^^ path to get to the Super Bowl, just tip your cap to them.

Womble 01-08-2025 11:55 AM

Who changed the thread title? Regardless, the Bills will not take the AFC this seasom.

Definitely... I don't really get all the talk about the Broncos (LMAO) and Chargers being tougher due to being division rivals while not bringing up the same point for the Bills... and on top of that, really trying to convince ourselves the Bills just wouldn't put up a huge fight because their defense sucks (just as it did last year when they were lining up for the game tying FG).

Through last season, I think Mahomes had played the Bills more since 2020 than the Chargers (since he sat out one of those games).

Jackson and the Ravens OTOH still have to prove they can go toe to toe with the Chiefs when it really matters, much less beat them in the playoffs.

And I think the Ravens are the type of team that could see negative effects from beating the Bills in Buffalo... and the normal questions of being able to refocus, etc. You know the Bills would come to town laser focused, but are we really sure the Ravens would? And that they wouldn't meltdown again if they got off to another really slow start?

If the Bills lose to the Broncos - which I don't think they do - it will be because their defense once again gets exposed as not having what it takes in the playoffs.

Schematically, there are some things they do that are dynamite against mediocre and bad QBs that just drop in effectiveness against elite teams in the playoffs.

And if that's the case, I don't see any way McDermott survives the fall-out. They'd have to move on, wouldn't they?

That could be good or bad, depending on who they'd hire. I suspect there would be a push to elevate Joe Brady. He could be an awesome or awful HC.

I couldn't see them going after another defensive coach, but would they chase Ben Johnson - and would he have interest?

I dunno. If I'm a Bills fan, I'm hesitant to pull the chute on McDumbass. I mean they could go back to the Dick Jauron days. It's the wrong move. But it would be tough to overcome, where they've been.
