So he's averaging about 250 yards a game with 75% completion. Congratulations to him I guess. I've only watched him play this last Saturday and there were several throws he was damn lucky to have had the receivers he does have. If you think that's a sustainable path towards winning the rest of this year and into the playoffs, you're crazy.

So Burrow is a fraud and a product of his WR’s? The Bengals probably regret spending all that money on Burrow when they can get this kind of production out of Browning. Shame they’re gonna lose some really nice offensive weapons cause of that contract.

Sometimes the best moves are the ones you don’t make . . . . .

JPH83 12-19-2023 07:43 AM

All that's happening is the Bengals are inching their way towards a worse draft pick.

Bearcat 12-19-2023 07:53 AM

I have a feeling rfaulk's going to be pulling receipts soon... like a CVS receipt, except longer.

Why Not? 12-19-2023 08:15 AM

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Bengals lose out. Not having Chase is gonna be huge. The Steelers are trash but will be motivated by at least having a QB that is backup quality in on Sunday. Trubisky should've been out of the league years ago. Plus it's a must win home rivalry game. Gimme TJ Watt and friends. Then they play us, probably still sans Chase. Week 18, we'll see. If the Browns need the game and play everyone, I think they win as well.

it'll be interesting to see how a system QB like Burrow handles an offense without as many weapons.

how did Garappolo do after he left SF?

Unfortunately they will probably "Matt Casell" Browning to a team for a 1st with some of the idiot GM's in the league.

Dude looks decent and is getting reps.

Usually QB's that start on an established team can perform better and get better themselves as they have a more solid group around them.

Most here forget that is what Mahomes was lucky enough to fall into. He didn't get drafted #1 overall by the worst team in the league like Burrow did and then have to work his way out of it. I'm not knocking Mahomes but Burrow did a great job reviving that franchise.

No, Burrow is an elite QB that likes things a certain way and Zac has allowed it because 2 straight AFCCGs and a SB appearance. Like i said earlier, they had started to transform and run more UC and PA. With how the team has performed in ramping it up for Browning, it's a no-brainer that Burrow will have to adapt to less empty and get used to turning his back to the defense on occasion. Not to the extent of Browning, but more.

I think he's smart enough to see the benefits to the offense and to his overall health--by getting hit less, helps the line, better run game--since he's now missed chunks of 2 of his 4 years here.

Honestly, there were more than a few times during TC this year where i saw him make some eyebrow raising throws (in a good way) and i took note of it but when the time came, i didn't expect him to perform like he has. Having what he does around him is his biggest superpower. I doubt he plays like this on any other needy team that would give up something for him.

Not badmouthing him, he seems to be a good guy and he's getting the job done, i just didn't really see him playing like this, game by game, even with who he has around him.

I mean they would be stupid not to. Even I see that as the obvious move for a front office to take. There's definitely a team dumb enough to take him (hello Denver!)

Put Burrow on the Jets and he's Zach Wilson and vice versa

Sassy Squatch 12-19-2023 03:56 PM

Why the **** would they trade him? If this was just a one off injury for Burrow, then sure, but the dude is injury prone AF. Having that cheap of an insurance policy that performs THAT well is worth way more than what the Bengals would get in a trade

And to add a little context...

Brown has given up a total of 6 pressures with 1 sack the last 3 weeks.

The Bengals line as a whole has played outstanding in the last 4 games with *shocked face* LG Cordell Volson being the best.

It only does in the sense that they've changed the offense to help the QB more with Burrow out. They're under center more, more play action and the running game and screen game has improved as a result.

It's not that they weren't helping Burrow out before, just that he preferred empty sets a lot and threw the ball a lot and that leads to more pressure and sacks. Not being as mobile early didn't help either.

Mahomes is 2.97

Honestly, Burrow being out is the worst thing that could have happened to every other team in the NFL. The way he played before lead to sacks and hits and somewhat limited the Bengals offense.

Seeing how it runs now will only make him better once he's back in and not missing the reads that Browning is. As well as Browning has been, he's missed several touchdowns on post-snap reads that Burrow doesn't miss.

pacheco's going to have a career high in rushing yards against your butter soft D

The only high he's going to get is from all the doobies he's gonna smoke before the game.

you are going to have a rude awakening

Nick Mullens and Ty Chandler are not suiting up in red and gold.

Mahomes may have his best game of the season.

Pasta Little Brioni 12-20-2023 05:50 AM

Mullens feasted other than a couple dumb throws

Good lord. He's never going to be the same.

Exclusive: New details emerge about Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's injury, surgeon who operated on him

Quote:

Sources indicate the timeline for return from this injury is four to six months. This ligament is in the middle of the wrist between the scaphoid and lunate bones. It’s an important wrist-stabilizing ligament.

Hah he just turned 27!

Geez look at me being dumb and saying 25 up there.

Sofa King 12-21-2023 10:25 PM

He’ll take the Andrew Luck route and be out of the NFL very early.

I don't think he taps out early - I think he gets finished.

Same result though.

So far he's just had his body broken in many different ways. Wait until Orlando gives up a killshot and Joe gets his brain jello'd real nice. He'll see what a waste of time it is trying to make a winner out of a loser city and call it a career.

A Trent Green style shot wouldn't break my heart

Dirty ****ing scum bungles.

Red Dawg 12-22-2023 02:00 PM

Joe isn't going anywhere. Out of the league at 30 is rediculous. He will be back.
