What he could, maybe, bring to any team isn't an option on this team because our O-Line doesn't allow PMII to hold the ball any more the 3 seconds.

He'd be better served selling his services to a team with a real O-line.

When I was a little kid I read all sorts of football biographies and histories. I distinctly remember one that had a psychological profile of the different positions. It described wide receivers as "people tend to be quiet loners who don't like to be the center of attention" or something to that degree. My, how times have changed.

Shiiiiiiiit of the playoff contending teams the most likely for him to join would be the Chargers with $74m in cap space next season, with other potentials in the Rams, Commanders, and Buccs. Worst case scenario would be the Bills or Ravens.

chiefzilla1501 01-06-2025 12:23 AM

I dont think we need him at his age and price. Can understand the frustration. Tua was completely incapable of throwing to his WRs and huntley isn't an NFL QB. Anyone who's seen the dolphins knows tyreeks got lots left in the tank.

But at this point let some other team overpay him

It would be kinda fun to see him jitterbugging around in Chargers colors and losing to us twice a year. ROFL

BossChief 01-06-2025 12:30 AM

I’d rather bring back Hollywood and Hopkins for less than Hill would cost…but it would be really cool to have him back in some fantasy world.

tk13 01-06-2025 12:58 AM

My worry about this is that the Chargers and Broncos both need WRs badly, and they both have a ton of cap space. Broncos still have to take one more hit for Russell Wilson but it'll be less than this year. And the Chargers could legit go out there and get Tyreek and Trey Smith and still have money left over. But that's a next year problem.

emaw1979 01-06-2025 06:01 AM

The Chiefs have two young stars (potential) at WR now in Rice and Worthy; I don't think they need to spend resources on him. They can probably resign Brown/Hopkins relatively cheap next year given their situations.

Hill would be an upgrade and paired with Rice and Worthy, may make the best WR trio in the NFL, but there are only so many balls and so much money.

I think he meant it and wanted to say it because he missed being in KC and that was his chance since he had some plausible deniability with needing us to win to get in.

I disagree. His heart isn't in it because their qbs are completely incapable of getting him the ball. It's not just him. It's waddle too and he's young. Tua has become Alex Smith on steroids. All he can do is throw to RBs and TEs.

What we saw is a lot more of what we saw in KC. He's getting bracketed by deep zone. And McDaniel is way less creative about getting him the ball in space. He doesn't have the dynamic playmaking to make chicken salad out of chicken shit, but he is still very lethal for a team that knows how to use him.

milkshock 01-06-2025 08:38 AM

Honestly, would be devastated if he went to an AFC rival and that includes the Chargers. Would consider bringing him back to prevent that happening alone.

Ehh I don't know. Personally, I think he likes putting feelers out like that so he can read all the pundits opinions on Twitter, and gauge the likelihood of a return.

HonestChieffan 01-06-2025 10:22 AM

Reek quit on his team. No getting past that. Let him buy a Chiefs Jerzy, we have no need for him back.

Chargem 01-06-2025 10:35 AM

His contract does not look tradable and the Dolphins also can't afford to cut him, I would be pretty shocked if he's not a Dolphin for next season.

dirk digler 01-06-2025 10:40 AM

I definitely think he regrets leaving us. But damn didn't realize he took himself out of the game yesterday.

Quote:

It wasn’t nearly as dramatic as the last time a high-profile receiver refused to play in a game against the Jets at MetLife Stadium, nearly three years ago to the day. It might lead to the same result.

Coach Mike McDaniel told reporters after the 32-20 loss to Jets that receiver Tyreek Hill declined to enter the game despite being able to play.

“I was informed that he was unavailable right before a drive,” McDaniel said. “I was not informed that it was a new injury, and I think at that point of time my focus was on the players and I didn’t take the time to go and try and figure out more into that. There were guys on the field that were competing, and we were trying to win a game, so my focus was there.”

Did Hill pull himself from the game?

“I was informed he wasn’t available, and I didn’t really have the time to dig more into that and we’ll see what comes of that after watching the tape and talking to coaches and the training staff,” McDaniel said.

How did he find out?

“It was discussed by the coaching staff on the headset and the play clock was running, so I moved on and called plays for people that were out there,” McDaniel said.

Hil was separately asked about the situation. He said he has been “dealing with a little issue” all season, and “coach kind of pulled me out,” , via Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald.

Hill seemed to backtrack when asked whether he was specifically removed by McDaniel because of the wrist.

“Just one of those issues, man, that like you know, you look up at the scoreboard, Chiefs are down [to the Broncos] and it’s like, OK,” Hill said.

So, in other words, it sounds like he removed himself. Coupled with the fact that he also said he’d like to move on from the Dolphins, he just might get his wish.

R Clark 01-06-2025 10:41 AM

He just needs to sit down shut up and cash his checks ,he should have thought about winning when he signed on the dotted line

RunKC 01-06-2025 10:45 AM

I think he’ll get traded. He’ll put up a huge stink like only Tyreek can. They’ve got void years so they might redo his contract before a trade to spread out the dead money or ask a team to give up a 6th or something and pay for part of the money this year (will still be cheap) in order to get him.

After 2025 his dead money isn’t that bad.

O.city 01-06-2025 10:47 AM

They'll cut and move on or trade. THere's not much coming back when a guy says stuff like that.

In the early years of most people's careers they chase the money, nearer the end of their career they frequently adjust their career setting so they can focus on things that matter more than the daily grind of life at the office. While few talk shit like this illiterate premadonna, that's just the "spoiled brat" coming out of these idiots.

As a leader, senior guy, and best player on the team, you cannot quit in the 4th quarter just because you learned you're not making the playoffs.

The Dolphins could have won that game yesterday. I'm sure the entire team is disappointed in missing the playoffs, but you can't walk out while everyone else is playing and trying to win. Terrible look for Tyreek.

That said, any team that can afford him will want him. Remember how many chances Antonio Brown and Terrell Owens got.

Well, Tampa won a SB with Antonio Brown as a contributor.

But yeah, it's usually not worth the headache having to pacify these WRs, especially if he's on the wrong side of 30.

No.

Kareem Hunt didn't create a podcast so he could shit on his former team. And he had way more to complain about than Tyreek who demanded - and got - the bag.

Tyreek can go to the Giants, score one amazing touchdown, and otherwise fade into irrelevancy.

I don’t think they can or should.

Also, seems like Tyreek really likes Tua. He had back-to-back 1,700 yard seasons with him anyway. And it seemed like he sorta checked out this year when Tua went down (though I know he was dealing with injuries as well).

Of course he likes Tua, Tua throws him the ball alot.

Listen to Tyreeks whole rant the other day. Not alot of "we" in there. Lotta "I".

He's the prototypical diva WR. He's an elite player, but it is what it is.

Phins just need to dump Tua, then he will be happy again.

When I see the Cowboys, Dolphins, Broncos, Raiders, and Steelers win just 3 Super Bowls in 25 years, that is good by me.

They won 16 in the 30 years prior, including 10 straight from '71 to '81. They were in a total of 26 or nearly 1 team a year for 30 years. A 16-10 Super Bowl record from just those 5 teams.

We never sniffed the playoffs and had to endure so much crap.

I hated those teams so much
