He couldnt get to the qb all night long. Also, another hold on 77 on the third down play. But no call. Arms outside on his shoulder pads.

Wow, what a convenient win the NFL handed to Pittsburgh. That's going to set up a lot of good TV commercials featuring the Steelers and the Patriots.

Yeah. Because the 1.1 hold didn't have any impact.

No pass rush, can't stop the run, no sense of urgency, stupid penalties, dropped passes, poor play calling for 75% of the game. Pick your poison, didn't deserve to win.

The refs didn't help but the players and coaches got what they deserved tonight.

FloridaMan88 01-15-2017 10:21 PM

Pittsburgh's game plan was to see if the Chiefs could beat them straight up without the benefit of turnovers or a Hill splash play.

Other than the INT in the end zone which the Chiefs couldn't capitalize on, Pittsburgh executed their game plan to perfection.

'Hamas' Jenkins 01-15-2017 10:21 PM

It was a goddamned miracle the Chiefs were even in the game. If the Steelers removed their heads from their asses in the Red Zone, this game is never in doubt. The Steelers won the turnover battle, gained 60% more yardage, had essentially the same amount of penalty yardage.

The Steelers punted one time this entire game and the Chiefs had 230 yards of offense, had no D or ST TDs, and yet still needed a two-pointer to tie. But instead of looking at the dozen times the Chiefs threaded the needle to avoid complete disaster, you complain about the result of a clear hold, even though the drive itself is in doubt of ever scoring if Conley doesn't lower his head into the range of a killshot on a pass he was going to drop anyway.

The Chiefs were an average team that got incredibly lucky with D and ST TDs this year, got a miracle banked FG, and had flukish RZ defense. Stop complaining about the refs and start looking at how the team can get better players.

JohnnyHammersticks 01-15-2017 10:22 PM

Speechless. ****ing shit the bed at home again. Bullshit holding call on Fisher, but we didn't play winning football for most of that game. We didn't deserve it. Receivers dropping passes, a QB who just can't make the big downfield pass consistently, shitty o-line and d-line play. The best team won, and it could've been a lot worse if Rapey could play on the road.

Just wait until next year!!!

Yeah, as a small market team the Chiefs will never win until they have a big media star. I was hoping Kelce's TV show would take off so the Chiefs could win, but it didn't get enough ratings to give us a win.

tk13 01-15-2017 10:25 PM

We didn't really play well in any phase of the game. Typical Chiefs. Way too many yards allowed defensively in the first half. Too inept on offense. Didn't block well, couldn't run the ball... Smith made mistakes, then when he made great throws we dropped them.

You'll be able to look back on so many different plays, if one of them goes the other way we win maybe. If Kelce doesn't drop that pass, Smith could've hit Hill that one time... heck if Houston isn't covering Brown, maybe we get a stop on that drive and win 17-15.

FloridaMan88 01-15-2017 10:25 PM

Yep. I thought this team was a 9-7 team going into the season and they got some lucky breaks to win 3 games they shouldn't. Their true colors showed up when they barely beat the Jags and lost at home to the shitty Titans and Bucs.

kccrow 01-15-2017 10:32 PM

I'm not even going to say much about this game except that the entire offense needs to have a serious reality check. They suck balls. The offensive line was atrocious. Just ****ing terrible. Alex Smith is not a good QB, period. The receivers didn't concentrate and the one that did gets his head taken off by the headhunting ****stick of the league now-days. If I'm John Dorsey, I'm blowing up half this offense and starting fresh. Maclin's 12.5 million per year can go. Albert Wilson's alligator arms can go. I'm confident that Nick Foles can run the offense at least as efficiently as Smith at half the price while you find a QB. And by God, draft some mother****ing guards early. Jesus H. Christ. Get their shit pushed in all day long. And as soon as you can ditch Eric ****ing Fisher, cut his ass too. AIDS infested shit show if I ever saw one.

I am going to turn into Clay 2.0 if I have to watch one more mother****ing season of this wannabe franchise shit the ****ing bed.

I could live with a loss if it wasn't yet again the refs taking a Chiefs scoring play off the board late in the game. The Steelers' interior offensive line was holding the whole game and did they get called once?

I would call it unbelievable, but it's not. It consistently happens where some teams get controversial calls at critical moments and other teams don't.

Probably not. But for as much grief as Smith deservedly gets, people also tend to overlook and overrate other aspects of the team. The defense is not going to be able to give up that yardage and be as successful next year. It's like stranding 95% of your inherited runners as a reliever. The offensive line is still average at best, at weak inside.

Chris Jones will get better, which will help the Chiefs defense. The linebackers, without an addition, likely won't.

As painful as it is, Hamas is right on the money.

This team needs to continue to raise the level of talent within the organization, particularly on the offense.

Alex Smith is not the answer at QB, so there is no point at continuing with him....Scoring 16 points in a playoff game at home is simply not acceptable in today's NFL.

The whole offense stunk. The play calling stunk. The execution sucked. The QB sucked. The dropped passes sucked.

The defense between the 20's sucked. The third down defense sucked.

It is a miracle that this game was even close...and that is what makes it that much more upsetting.

This team was the Texans with really good special teams. If this game had been in Pittsburgh it would have been 48-16.

I agree but I am willing to cut the D some slack because one they had a ton of injuries on that side of the ball and two they play alot because our offense sucks.

We definitely need to get a couple of LB's and some depth in the secondary but we definitely need to get a stud RB if they are keeping AS.

Those of you who are saying that wasn't a hold on Fisher.... LOL.

You are missing the point...and the NFL puppet-masters bank on you rationalizing away timely penalties. You are their key demo-graphic..the apologists.

I counted several holding calls that were ignored that resulted in Steelers 1st downs...the refs waited until a crucial scoring play to call one. If they had been calling it all game...fine. This is the play-offs..they either let them play or they dont.

Not really. He's not done nothing, but he's not done everything. He allows this bullshit coach-speak to go on week after week, excuses week after week, he owns a team that accepts losing a little too much, he's never stepped up and said anything meaningful after one of the many "crushing" losses.

And I don't care if he makes himself visible, but his policies need to speak volumes about failure being unacceptable. So far that's not happened.
