lol people are going to shit themselves then if they arent prepared.

I'm from PA so I see Eagles games and Eagles fans and I know exactly how Andy Reid is, and I am fine with it. Still better than Herm, Romeo, Scooter Pioli, Todd Haley's vintage "This is the first quarter, we are 1-3 in the first quarter, now begins the second quarter..." ****ing bullshit

This has probably been covered multiple times already, but does Reid have ANY connections to the Patriots tree? If so, how distant or close are the connections?

God this seems like a good change of pace from the worthless Browns and the evil Patriots trees.

crazycoffey 01-04-2013 03:34 AM

he's his own tree now, but first nfl job was green bay with holgrem. another fact, last job in college was MU OL coach....

He comes from the Holmgren tree with guys like Chilly, Lezlie Frazier, Pat Shumur, etc

how funny is this Trotter piece. Title is "Ex-Eagle Jeremiah Trotter blasts Andy Reid as a coach"

Quote:

Andy Reid currently is out of a job after being fired by the Philadelphia Eagles, though all indications are that he's close to becoming the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Suffice to say, if former Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter was advising the Chiefs (and why would he?), Kansas City might want to reconsider.

Here's what Trotter, who played seven seasons under Reid in Philadelphia, had to say during a roundtable on 97.5 FM The Fanatic radio station, via philly.com: "If it came down to both teams were even, talent-wise, I think the opponent's team would win if it came down to coaching. Andy Reid got out-coached in a lot of games, man, a lot of big games. Time outs, running the football, you know."

Trotter wasn't done there, either.

He added that Reid's in-game coaching decisions also indirectly affected games -- as in how it messed with the psyche of the defense and defensive coaches.

"As a defense, we understood we passed the ball too much," Trotter said. "You know, there's times we're sitting over there like, 'Man, listen. Just get us a couple of first downs so we can get a break.' And I'm sure it frustrated Jim Johnson also."

Trotter also rated Reid's coaching abilities on a scale of one to 10.

"On a scale of one to 10, 10 being great," Trotter said, "I give (Reid) a seven-and-a-half or eight as a coach."

In that case, never mind the Chiefs reconsidering. They definitely could use a "seven-and-a-half or eight" after the 2-14 season they just experienced.

So he "blasts" Andy as a coach (I use this loosely, because all he said was Andy passes the ball a lot... in a pass happy league, it is ****ing 2013, I am so glad to have a pass happy coach, because I haven't seen a pass happy Chiefs team since uhh, like 1993.) But anyway, "blasts" the coach but gives him a 7.5-8 out of 10 AS A COACH. LOL What the **** kind of scale is that...

I'm from North Dakota and Wisconsin, and have never watched an Andy Reid press conference in my life.

So I guess I'll be experiencing frustrating Reid bullshit for the first time

Quesadilla Joe 01-04-2013 03:54 AM

I hope he is pass happy in KC. It is infuriating playing the Chiefs and only getting to watch Von pass rush a handful of times every game. He better be careful with his #1 pick though, Cleveland had to start their third string QB the week after they played Denver.

his press conferences are

he will always defend players no matter how badly they suck (McCluster will be our Freddie Mitchell/Correl Buckhalter)

he will always take all of the blame never the players

a week later he will cut a player he just defended in a press conference contradicting himself

rinse. repeat

Crush 01-04-2013 04:08 AM

Probably Q, but I don't care:

Howard Eskin ‏<s>@</s>howardeskin Andy reid has talked to 4 coaches bout coming w him. Doug Pederson is highest profile. Eagles won't let Duce Staley leave. J castillo going

BradBigglestein 01-04-2013 04:12 AM

Even if you are mentally prepared, Reid will do things in the games that really have you scratching your head or get on your nerves. But he does a lot of things incredibly well too, so it balances out.

I highly suggest not watching press conferences though. If anyone on this website is a fan who watches every second of every press conference, start finding other things to do to fill that time now. I don't think you'll make it past two of them before wanting to take a power drill to your temple.

Assuming he is hired, he is going to be really funny and affable in the introductory press conferences(I bet he already started writing little jokes down for it), but it's a different thing when it is after a game and he is in "coach mode."

Have you ever witnessed a Romeo Crennel press conference? I doubt Andy's press conferences are worse than Romeo "I'm not sure" Crennel. Plus, the KC Media is filled with a bunch of pussies that lob softball questions on a regular basis. I think it is a win-win for both sides.

NJChiefsFan 01-04-2013 04:24 AM

Yeah it's not like the KC media to hammer away at a point. Questions about Cassel would have come up a long time prior to when they did here.

As for what he says and what he then does, I don't really care about that. As long as he makes the right cut or signing at the right time, I don't care what he said in the media about it 5 days earlier. I have never been one to care about the pressers though. I listen but I don't really get pissed by them.

We dealt with Herm pressers for years. We're masochists.

ChiefMojo 01-04-2013 05:55 AM

Kansas City follk as a whole are completely wired differently than those in Philly. As a whole we are much more laid back and we are more accepting to put up with BS for a longer period of time before we go ape sh*t. Our media as a whole isn't hardcore in their reporting. As mentioned they normally try to play nice with everyone and just lob softballs as questions.

A Midwest mentality is hard for some back in the Northeast to understand I would suppose. Reid will have it nice here as long as he wins more than he loses.
