The Royals will most likely be bad enough to just miss the playoffs... and just good enough to not trade James Shields for prospects.

They won't DFA Frenchy. They just won't. GMDM is very hard headed about some guys. Look how long he trotted Kyle Davies out there. If a guy came here from the Braves, he's a "made man." Plus the promotions wanks have "Frenchy Quarter" days scheduled into September. I'm not kidding. The Royals are the kind of crappy organization that would keep a guy on the 25 man roster just because they had some T-shirts printed up that they didn't want to waste.

If our pitchers continue their insane performance so far (it's a lot to ask, we're currently #1 in the league in E.R.A), we would only need to average around four runs a game to be a seriously threat in October.

I only hope Dayton has the foresight to be willing to deal for a bat at 2B when August comes along.
