I mean technically everyone is capped with what they can do so I don't really understand that one.

I like Felix a lot. He even signed my wife's jersey after practice last week. He really seems like a good dude. Watching in practice, he needs to get off the ball a little quicker. When he gets started on time he does some good things. I have a lot of hope for his future.

I like his moves in that clip but his get off was kind of slow. I'm hoping that will be something that improves throughout the season.

I wasn't too deep INT he draft discussion this year but I do remember talking to staylor about the surprisingly fast below 7 second 3 cone this guy had at 255 lbs.

I think Karlaftis is pretty capped at what he can do. A lot of what he does is his work ethic, but FAU has him beat technically and athletically. It's not a slight on George either bc I think his work with Tamba will really help him this year.

Just seems weird that people think the DL is horrific without Jones. Yes Jones is elite but there is talent there around him.

We're looking fine at DE. But it's DT that's worrisome. Outside of Jones, we have Nnadi, who isn't that good, Wharton, who is coming off season ending injury from last season, and a day 3 rookie. There's also Shelton, who looks improved, but hasn't been that great up until now in his career.

"even more importantly, he flashed some solid plays in the run game as well"

Exaaaaactly.

It's the first thing i look for and imo, the most important.

Because it means we can play him early and often.

Am I misremembering..? I thought he was pretty solid against the run in college just awkwardly played as a pass rusher.. I’ve seen multiple people allude to him not being good against the run.

Oh i have no idea what he was like in college.

But when i look at rookie defensive linemen the first two things i look for are:

1. Can he hold his own at the point of attack? Is he getting mauled at the LoS? Does he have functional strength to hold up against NFL LT's?

2. An extension of 1, can he hold up in the run game.

If he can do those things in his rookie year then we're off to a good start. The pass rush stuff will come in time.

But if he can't do the thing mentioned above, then we can't really get him on the field to work on the pass rush stuff.

Yep, Even Alabama had to have a double team on him 80% of the plays. He is a monster

It’s why we all loved the Tyson Jackson pick so much.

He couldn’t be moved from his spot and had loads of get off.

I think the argument was he wasn't great against the run but this was largely a result of his alignment and usage. He's not going to be useful all across the DL, but keep him at DE and he could be fine against he run. That's the argument i saw.
